Hey Guys thought I would share my first 4 weeks of ownership of my SF90 Stradale. I delivered from Ferrari of Philadelphia, who are a great group of guys by the way. Only have driven the car 130 or so miles, and its already at the wrap shop getting full XPel Paint protection, but here are some of my first impressions of the car. So far its more mean/aggressive looking that I originally anticipated. I love the rear end of the car and the front end is growing very rapidly on me. I opted to not tint the windows to avoid the car looking smaller on the road, but that's personal preference. I skipped all the exterior carbon and skipped the AF pack, but really love the way all those look on this car, I just needed the lifter for city driving. As far as the drive and performance, its the best car I've every driven, the power delivery is surreal, handling is second to none for me, and it feels like a rwd car, one of my biggest fears of this being AWD. The technology is quite nice, carplay (plug in only) is a bit annoying since it takes up the whole dash screen. The digital dash will take some time to get used to as well, but is functional.

A few things I dislike about the car are what I've seen other complain about. First and most importantly I hate the exhaust tone (or lack of). What is everyone doing about the exhaust tone? There's a few systems out there that work well, but need tuned etc, which is a bit unnerving. Also, I hate the touch screen button for the voice recognition, very annoying. I seem to hit it every 5 mins of driving! I supposed I'll get used to it.

I'll add more later, but overall very happy with the car thus far.

Glad you are enjoying the car.. I never hear the voice recognition got the dealer to set it to the min time of 15 secs, think that means the buttons get less sensitive/locked out after 15 secs, it’s in the settings menu..

Thank You much for that advice, I'll definitely look into that as soon as the car comes back from the wrap shop.

A few other things that are unusual, I hate that the car has an idle, my first exotic car that does this. Also, its a bit tough to get in and out of, even though I'm only 36 and decently in shape. The seat is quite forward from the back of the door, which I saw on a review as well. Both very small issues.

Thanks for your impressions. What do you mean by the car has an idle?

I might not be saying it correct, but in a typical automatic car the car creeps up due to the torque converter (?). That happens here and its my first exotic to do this.

the sf90 does not have a torque converter like an automatic transmission car does. the car "creep" in the sf90 is 100% driven from the electric motors which will stop pushing more at 5 mph. note that reverse is 100% done via front wheels only with electric.

idle has varied meaning for the sf90 (and 396) depending on drive mode. the combustion engine is on in qualifying and performance mode, can be on (or off) in hybrid, and is off in electric (ed) at idle.

fwiw, on the first touch fo the 'engine start' section on the steering wheel, you can select the drive mode. then when you touch the 'engine start' area again it will activate in that mode. by default it starts in hybrid mode.

as with all the ferrari paddle cars, you can pull them both back at the same time to put the car into neutral; there are also special modes for towing and "car wash" mode.

ps word of advice: when you plug in your car, ALWAYS plug it into the WALL SOCKET first and then secondly plug it into your car.

Good to know on the electric motor pushing the car forward. I think that's annoying as its not familiar to me in my exotics.

Also thanks for heads up on the wall socket first then car. That's been the case since the wire is always plugged in.

My dealer told me to keep the car plugged in at all times.

yes this is the general case. my car goes out at least once a week for a drive and i always end the drive up to where i live by running the engine in the qualifying mode. in about 5 minutes this will charge the battery up to full. the car can actually sit for at least two weeks without being plugged in with a fully charged battery. for example, if you turn the car off with low battery, it will actually tell you it needs to be plugged in. the reason is that the car will periodically turn on various fans and cooling features even while not plugged in while it sits. they are pretty loud - you can't miss it.

one other thing of importance to note - you don't want to use an extension cord with the plug in charger thing. i have even heavy duty 20a rated ones and after about 15 minutes, the cord still gets unusually warm. i would only imagine this gets worse with a crappier cable and could even result in a fire.

ugh yes I noticed this on the Roma, super annoying. Have you asked if there's any way to disable/revert the behavior?

3-5 max. I start the motor let the rpm’s kick down from cold start, I also will keep rpm below 4k till oil is around 190 after that warm those tires up and have fun and be safe :)

Ok but it starts in electric mode to reverse car out… does the electric mode need to warm up before reversing or can drive in EV immediately?

It does not need to warm up, it’s ready to drive immediately.
