About to close on a car in London and looking for advice as to how to ship and import the car. Any recommendations on transporters and importing agents? I will be shipping the car from London to Houston. Any words of wisdom appreciated!

There is a good 2 page article by Bill Orth in the 3rd Quarter 2022 issue of Prancing Horse magazine about automobile shipping logistics.

What’s the car? I’m in London if you need a friendly eye cast over it. I’m not in that business but I have owned 5 Ferrari’s over the years. I’m good on the modern classics.

I shipped a Mercedes Pagoda from California to the uk. It was simple and the agents arranged everything. One word of warning, it takes a frustratingly long time! The ship had a gps tracker on it and I’d check daily. Quite fun watching the car travel through the Panama Canal. I did get it inspected in California but I think the dealer had some arrangement as the floor pans were so rusty that I could almost do a Fred Flintstone impression.
