Lovely looking car! Once upon a time, I had this in my garage: Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login With a highly tuned 3.8 litre engine from an E-type under the bonnet and lightweight aluminium bodywork, it was quite a performer, but not much fun in the rain, owing to lack of hood or windscreen!

Not a 120 but here is my XK140 FHC on the Colorado grand a couple of weeks ago Image Unavailable, Please Login
Just stupidly gorgeous. Nothing made today comes close. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
My first car was a 1954 XK120 SE. I still have it, and it is in my garage next to my Dino 246GT. My nephew and I are planning to re-restore it and bring it back to the original colors; black with red interior, black wire wheels. The chassis number is S676018.

Ah, Good eyes! There's a very patinaed Maserati 3500 GT, behind it on the lift is a '56 250 GT Boano, and next to that is a '37 Cord, and '51 Mercury. There are a bunch of Indian motorcycles littered in between them also. Many of the Indians, and some Fiat 124 Spiders are available! BTW, the Jag smokes the Maser, and 250 GT, and it's older!
Replica. Somebody has a business in Brazil building these + shipping rolling chassis to the States. Dealer had 2 today Image Unavailable, Please Login . Any engine you want...he's contemplating doing this one electric. Yes, they beefed up the windshield frame...

Ive never owned a truly old car, and I really love the idea of an XK120 at some point. I would love to read more about anyone's experience with this lovely automobile.
I've pretty much ONLY had old cars; hot rod Model A coupe, '33 Ford PU street rod, '51 Mercury, Fiat 124 Spiders, '61 Maserati 3500 Gt, '37 Cord, '56 Ferrari 250 GT Boano, and then the '52 Jag XK 120. I've also driven almost everything vintage from Duesenbergs to Hispano Suizas, and E types to Bugattis. I must admit, the XK 120 is car that is "worn" like fine leather jacket. It forms to you, and is part of you. Depending on your size, and the body type desired, they are very comfortable and very road going! We did a 1000+ jaunt in 4 days with a bunch of other 120s through the Gold Country of CA, and we were very comfortable. I did convert mine to a Tremec 5 spd OD though, just because the car deserved it. These are truly the "Cat's Meow"! If the 120 is too cramped for you, the 140 & 150 offer much more cabin space, R&P steering, and even disc brakes on the 150. They are much better cars than the 120, but not as pretty.
It's the one car I will likely never sell. Like RedFred84 said, it wears like a fine leather jacket and is truly a pleasure to drive. It's my "chill" car because I just like to cruise in it and it will run all day at 75-80 without a hiccup. It's just one of those classics I never tire of driving or looking at. It's been very reliable so far, but I put a larger radiator in it and front disk brakes for drivability. I kept the old Moss gearbox because I love just how it feels.
Just listed mine for sale if anyone is in the market. https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/1957-jaguar-xk140-mc.681811/
