That's awful. Boring, tame and uninspired.

It does seem like we will have at least another generation of production series NA V12 for another 6 or so years

Guys, the car lobby has won!
Euro7 will not happen as it will be more or less the same as Euro6.
Now I understand readers here from outside Europe will easy state “ not my country so why should I care!?”
However please realize that most car manufacturers reside in Europe and thus have to abide those rules.
    Exceptions are not.
This is BIG news that is currently being overshadowed as it would have affected Ferrari in a BIG way.
regardless if they would meet volume requirements or not!

So that’s just taking away any requirement on automakers to cut emissions after 2025 but the net goal of zero emission by 2035 is still in place? So the commission just allows more time and resources to help manufacturers reach that 2035 goal . Is my understanding correct?

    Parliamo in inglese, amici.
O almeno diamo qualche rivelazione se dovete parlare in italiano :)

(in free translation: let's talk English, unless you have essential revelations - in such case Italian is very okay too :D)

I have said this many time before. These emission goals are only for posturing by politicians when there is no real consequence. Once the deadline approaches they will be moved and moved and moved...Now wait another fine years and see how the 2035 zero emissions goal gets moved to 2040 and wait 10 years and see how suddenly new research will show that aiming for zero emissions is actually more harmful than having a healthy mix and so on it goes.

Then so why are so many manufacturers moving away from the v12, na 8 and investing so much in hybrids and electrification?

...PUBLIC companies are moving because shareholders would have them in court in they were operating in defiance of regulations.

Private companies have more opportunities, for instance, Pagani, no electric

True but pagani is one of those manufacturers i believe that produce less than 1000 cars a year hence they have that flexibility and exemption am I correct?

Of course there is a dance here (between car manufacturers, regulators and buyer preferences) and there will be a mix of full electric, hybrid and ICE going forward but the arbitrary deadlines imposed by regulators of zero emissions are just not viable imho.

The Euro standards are one thing (they regulate all kinds of emissions), the CO2 targets are another thing altogether.

    My apologies. You are right
I suggest you to lure day355 user in some dirty bar in Maranello and extort some details from him after a few drinks. Over there, seems l'anicione (Modena typical liqueur ) is working fine. ;)

    More or less.
Or you could also say that they build in a fail safe to ‘ claim’ they are doing a lot yet the current set of rules has been prolonged. Meaning the new tougher rules have been discarded.
It could therefor mean Ferrari’s plan to electrify would be less important.
