I paid my $7.77. What do you think a room with a strip view is going to go for during the weekend? Right now not seeing anything available to book yet.

The surprising thing to me is the start time of 10 PM. Honestly, its going to be a bit chilly. https://www.reviewjournal.com/sports/motor-sports/formula-1/las-vegas-grand-prix-formula-one-2023-race-date-announced-2643442/ The Las Vegas Grand Prix is slated to occur Nov. 16-18, 2023, on the Strip, Formula One announced Tuesday. Practice and qualifying for the race will take place Nov. 16-17, with the race itself occurring Nov. 18. Plans call for the race to start at 10 p.m., under the lights of the Strip. “The Las Vegas Grand Prix is going to take F1 race weekends to the next level,” Formula 1 CEO and President Stefano Domenicali said in a statement. “Staging a Grand Prix in the sports and entertainment capital of the world has allowed us to plan a truly spectacular celebration that has never been seen in our sport before, in the greatest arena on earth.” The grand prix will see cars reaching speeds of more than 200 mph during the 50-lap race at night in and around the Strip on a 3.8-mile course that features three main straights and 17 corners. Las Vegas’ Formula One race dates were announced as part of the full 2023 F1 calendar that includes 24 races. Las Vegas is one of three races to be held in the United States, with the other two being held in Miami (May 7) and Austin, Texas (Oct. 22). “We are excited to announce the 2023 calendar with 24 races around the world. Formula 1 has unprecedented demand to host races and it is important we get the balance right for the entire sport,” Domenicali said. “We are very pleased with the strong momentum Formula 1 continues to experience and it is great news that we will be able to bring our passionate fans a mix of exciting new locations such as Las Vegas to the Championship with much loved venues across Europe, Asia and the Americas.” An opening ceremony is planned for Nov. 15, 2023 at the paddock building F1 is constructing on the northeast corner of Harmon Avenue and Koval Lane. The event will feature music acts and other Las Vegas entertainment, while unveiling the multi-use building. In June, Liberty Media, F1’s parent company, closed on the 39-acre plot of land for $240 million. Las Vegas will host the race for at least three years beginning next year, but officials noted during the race’s announcement that they hope to make it a long-term addition to F1’s annual calendar. MGM Resorts CEO Bill Hornbuckle said last month that room rates during the race’s weekend will be three times or more higher than normal. Hornbuckle noted MGM Resorts’ ticket buy will be between $20-$25 million, which the resort giant will use to create ticket packages for the event. “There are packages that sell for that event at $100,000 retail,” Hornbuckle said. The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority will spend $19.5 million over three years to sponsor F1 races in 2023, 2024 and 2025. Last month F1 opened up a pre-registration ticketing portal. Upon signup, fans were asked to donate $7.77 to the Las Vegas Grand Prix Foundation. Money raised through that will go toward local hunger relief organizations including Three Square Food Bank and The Just One Project. “The entire city is buzzing with excitement for next year’s race,” Domenicali said. “We are truly overwhelmed by the response on our pre-registration portal and the donations received. We have far surpassed our goal of providing over one million meals to the local community.”
—The average high in Las Vegas in November is a mild 20°C during the day, with temperatures dropping to around 5°C at night. This is definitely one of the coldest months to visit Las Vegas, — Thomas Cook travel UK website Does Pirelli have an almost winter tire ready lol. 5-10c at night track temp??
Actually....no.....I have not even begun to figure out how to resolve it.... As my daughter said: "go disguised, as a normal person.." I sent her to college you know..
Exactly! Most all the people going to these races will be there for the party and status and not know anything about the cars, drivers and understand the skills it takes to drive a race car. This minion here is at home watching and if this continues I’ll be doing something else instead of supporting F1 anymore. Indycar and IMSA are favs of mine and they make it affordable to attend races and get paddock passes.
Formula 1 demo to lead to full closure of Strip Nov. 5 https://www.reviewjournal.com/sports/motor-sports/formula-1/formula-1-demo-to-lead-to-full-closure-of-strip-nov-5-2651254/ A portion of the Strip is set to be shut to traffic for several hours next month so Formula One can host a Las Vegas Grand Prix kickoff party. A full closure of Las Vegas Boulevard between Paris Las Vegas and Harrahs on Nov. 5 was approved Tuesday by Clark County Commissioners to allow for an F1 demonstration. “Demo runs with actual Formula One cars and actual Formula One drivers that are in the competition to show what those cars are capable of,” said Rutger Jansen, vice president of event production for the Las Vegas Grand Prix. The live car run on the Strip will feature drivers from Oracle Red Bull Racing and Mercedes-AMG Petronas. The full closure is set to begin at 4:30 p.m. Nov. 5 and last until around 7 p.m. The demo will start at Caesars Palace with drivers heading south on the Strip. Drivers will then go around the porte cochere at Paris then head back north on Las Vegas Boulevard to Caesars, Jansen said. “They’ll do multiple rounds,” Jansen said. “Then go back to the start-finish line.” Lane impacts on the Strip tied to the event will begin Nov. 3, with full curb lane closures between the Mirage and Planet Hollywood. That closure will be in effect through Nov. 6, after crews remove all barriers tied to the event. Race officials have been in contact with the resorts that will be impacted by the event to ensure employees will be able to access their places of work. “The 6:30 shift (of casino employees) coming in at that point, not only do we hope to have the road back open, we said 7 o’clock but we’re going to work diligently to get it back open at that 6:30 time frame,” Terry Miller, head of Miller Project Management said. Caesars Palace is set to host the free event running between 11 a.m. and 11 p.m., Nov. 5, aimed at providing area residents and tourists a glimpse of what the Las Vegas Grand Prix is set to bring to the valley in November 2023. A drone show over Caesars Palace is scheduled for later in the evening. The event will include fan activities such as the Formula One Pit Stop challenge, where attendees can try their hand at changing a Formula One car’s wheels in under three seconds and an esports simulator where fans can race head-to-head on the official F1 game. “What we’re trying to do is make people understand what F1 is, what it all encompasses,” Jansen said. “There will be actual cars on display. Of course the demo run will show what those cars are capable of. People will get a feel, a smell, they will hear the cars. They will understand what’s going on.” There is also a driver question and answer session planned for after the live run on the Strip. The first 500 fans ages 21 and older to attend the launch party will have a chance to win a ticket for a private VIP celebration later that night at Caesars Palace featuring a performance by The Killers. “This is an exciting event for us to bring F1 to Las Vegas and the Valley to show everybody what they can expect next year,” Miller said. “It’s not a race, it’s a course, it is moving these F1 vehicles and being able to see the talent that gets in these cars and drives them. We won’t be going 200 mph up and down this demonstration course. But it will be faster than the typical traffic on the boulevard.”
Fan festival coming on November 5. I drove past the F1 home sight today and construction is going full bore on the property. https://www.reviewjournal.com/sports/motor-sports/formula-1/f1-releases-new-details-on-12-hour-las-vegas-grand-prix-fan-fest-2655668/ F1 releases new details on 12-hour Las Vegas Grand Prix fan fest The Las Vegas Grand Prix will be introduced to the city via a 12-hour festival on the Strip. Fans who show up to the festival early will be rewarded. The first 500 fans aged 21 and older will receive one complimentary ticket to a VIP celebration taking place that night. The inaugural race is planned to be the first of at least three Formula One races held on Las Vegas Boulevard. Plans call for a 3.8 mile track on the Strip between Spring Mountain Road and Harmon Avenue, winding behind Las Vegas Boulevard to Koval Lane. Toldja! F1 is making a permanent year round F1 attraction in Vegas Formula One planning 300K square-foot Las Vegas paddock https://www.reviewjournal.com/sports/motor-sports/formula-1/formula-one-planning-300k-square-foot-las-vegas-paddock-2660420/ Formula One officials are looking at constructing a four-story, 300,000 square foot paddock building just off the Las Vegas Strip. The building structure is set to be constructed at the center of 39 acres on the northeast corner of Harmon Avenue and Koval Lane and will feature elevations of between 54 feet and 74 feet in height, according to documents submitted to Clark County. Liberty Media, F1’s parent company, purchased the land earlier this year for $240 million. The structure will be the hub of activity during the F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix, set to make a run of at least three years starting in November 2023. Although F1 and Las Vegas officials have committed to holding the race through 2025, they are eyeing making the race the marquee U.S. Formula One race on an annual basis. Plans call for Las Vegas’ F1 race to cover 50 laps on a 3.8 mile track through the resort corridor. The main stretch of the race is on Las Vegas Boulevard between Spring Mountain Road and Harmon, with a portion on Koval, which loops around the MSG Sphere. The race is planned to occur at night under the bright lights of the Strip, with a 10 p.m. start time. A paddock is the area where crews work on cars before, during and after a race. The site is also where the start/finish line will be located. Formula One is looking to use the paddock area year round, hosting various events outside of just race days. Documents show 13 team pit areas are planned to be located on the first level along the southeast side of the paddock building, adjacent to pit lane. Levels two and three will feature club level space for spectators, with the fourth floor consisting of a rooftop terrace. There will be temporary grandstands built on the site, surrounding the racetrack. The parking lot for event attendees would be located to the southeast of the Paddock building and racetrack, with 1,987 spaces available, according to the documents. Access to the parking lot would be via a pair of driveways adjacent to Harmon Avenue. A circular spectator pick up/drop off area will be located to the west of the building, adjacent to Koval. That area is planned to feature a one-way driveway featuring 2 lanes measuring 24 feet wide. There are several use permits, design reviews and waivers of development standards filed for the project. Many of waivers are tied to plans featuring specifications that are outside of county code. For instance, F1 plans to feature six signs on the site, including four wall signs, a free standing sign and roof sign equaling over 37,000 square feet, nearly 6,000 more square feet than is allowed. The sign plan includes F1 logos in red lighted acrylic panels and a LED video board set to face west on Koval. There are tentative plans for a second free standing sign, but those designs would be subject to a review during a separate public hearing, the plans state. Formula One officials were not immediately available for comment.
Went to Indy every year took the 308 a couple times To me it was the purest formula one experience I've been to Monaco where we were in la rassacce restaurant And crescent and peel streets in Montreal But Indy was the whole package to me liberty is whoring the experience
I will be there in my vintage 1982 Caesars Palace shirt. Yep I sat in a hot Caesar’s Palace parking lot for a weekend!
Bob or Ryan, you connected with anyone who will taking on volunteers for the weekend? Track marshal or anything like that? Would be a great opportunity for Jessica at Ferrari to put something together. I haven’t been down to see Rich in awhile so not sure if LV Ferrari has anything in store.
AmEx did their presale today. I logged on and checked, grandstand seats were $2k. I then checked to see what the hotels are looking like, seems most have tripled their rates for during the GP. I'm sure it'll sell out and it'll be packed, but the only winners on this one is Liberty.
