So lately my FF have a problem with the trunk. It won't open using my key fob or inside button...No matter the engine is running or not. But after maybe a few start/off cycle, it works again. BTW my FF has the Antigravity lithium battery and is on the charger all the time. Anyone experienced this before?

    Won’t open at all?

    Won’t unlock?

    Unlock but doesn’t lift?

Try cleaning the contacts of the actuator and lubricate the mechanism. It sounds like it may be on its way out. Make sure the actuator is seeing 12v with a multimeter. If it fails again, probably need a new one.

The button on key fob or inside button wouldn't do anything...hear no sound of the actuator and won't unlock.

I occasionally have this as well but it returns to normal pretty quickly.

As a last roll of the dice in terms of fixing it, try a hard reset with a full battery disconnect and then re-learn procedure. Bear in mind that the trunk will not operate until you have cycled the lock/unlock sequence twice following the power disconnect.

Try this, lock and unlock the car 3 times. Don't rush it, lock the car and wait a few seconds, then unlock, and repeat 2 more times.

Yet it still **sometimes** still works?? If not I’d suggest looking at the fuse. However intermittent is something else.

If neither button or fob opens try one more thing. On the fob hold both unlock and trunk buttons for at least 10 seconds together. Should force a trunk open.

I seem to have a nice feature of my FF when it comes to open the trunk: I sometimes have to press the button (remote or inside) three (3) times - or it will not open. It seems to be releated to if the car has been locked, and "cold" (as in turned of for more than 5 minutes or something) - then it will require 3 pushes... Funny one ;-)

Btw. does anyone know if the button pressed again should close an open trunk, or always only open?

Sounds like your battery is weak. Oh wait. Inside button does same? Not the fob then. Did you do any custom changes like ecu tune or other electronics??

    Fob only opens.

Nothing is changed. It is bone stock.

I also have a very large bunch of warnings: "system not programmed" (which is the radio nav unit going balistic, after driving for a few minutes the radio goes off and then on - a restart after that solves thw warning.............).

It is like the driver seat fan turned on after start, or driver side heat that also happens from time to time...

Yes it is an Italian car after all, I still love my FF.

No, no lose connections, most likely it is a combo of two different things: The System Not Programmed is sync between a few different CPUs in the car (it will be solved at the service I have booked by December), and the funny stuff is most likely a battery challenge. Again.
