Hmmm, it was always 3 before. There were only a couple of 4 layer like Rosso F1 2007 and piano black, but maybe things have changed?
The option codes you should look for on your order sheet is CLDT Extracampionario and then CLDX in Pelle Bianco OR if that is definitely a tri-colore stripe (green white and red) on the dash the option code would be CLDT and then CSTU. Feel free to private message me your VIN and/or copy of your order from the dealer and I can decode everything for you. I work for an authorized dealer and should be able to help.
I am a grey guy but now seriously thinking about it for my 296 GTS. Challenge is, that car will be more my daily and I like to be lower profile at times. Maybe I do it in RC on the 296 switch to the 812 daily…which I love! Too many colors to choose from!
I hadnt realized how similar Maranello and Fuoco were. But yes, at least on this picture, Rosso Maranello is the best one to my eyes!
Fuoco does better in low light, and has orange in it, while Maranello has more of a plum/cherry. Plus, fuoco is metallic and maranello mica.
Im no expert, but metallic has a flake and mica is more suspended mini spares in the paint that refract the light differently?
My understanding is that metallic paints have metal flakes suspended in the paint. Those reflect light only, since the light can’t pass through the metal (aluminum?) flakes themselves. Mica paints have little mica flakes suspended instead. These are flat, transparent minerals, rather than metals. So they provide different reflections as well as refractions. But I’m also not an expert! Andy
