The 89 BAT Car just stalled at $2.475 and did not hit reserve, with 2,800 Miles. Very strange bidding on that car.

I didn't know about the repaint, I thought the Speedo issue was related to changing from KM to MPH.

or a European F40 to get all the money it absolutely has to be a no questions asked example…there are simply too many of them for people to just pay up…very different than the US version since only 213 were made

Even rarer, just 211 Tipo USA road cars made, the only thing rarer is a Lexan Sliding Windows variant.

I imagine those that do not exist, will exist once again at some point! at least two total losses are now LM clones.

That my be logical if values were always multimillion but for a long time people were trading in f40s for 355s and 360s. In those days i can’t imagine crashed f40s were being treated like anything special

All except 3, at least that's what I know, the notion that lots of USA F40s have been scrapped is not reality.

Notwithstanding the high bid on 80746, with the very low mileage 79763 achieving a high bid of just $2,475,026, now with 88895 with significant mileage bringing £1,411,250 all in, I think it's safe to say we have a bit of a correction taking place.

A high mileage euro accident f40 was never a $2m car.

All of which makes the recent no sale of F40 BLU on collecting cars with bids in excess of £2 mill highly suspect to a comical level!

Nothing of the lost cars needs to exist, just ownership of the rights to the VIN, Classiche will happily fill in the rest for you for a healthy sum of money. There is also a company in Italy that is building examples sans VIN already.

Agreed on that, but given recent activity one can be forgiven for expecting closer to £1.75 as opposed to the £1.4m it brought, but the market has spoken and the current trend is clear.
