obviously BoP and evo kits help, but that chassis has been incredible. maybe Ferrari should send the GT guys over to the F1 team
No.51 & No.52 488GTEs currently leading after 3/8th of the race in the final WEC 2022 round in Bahrain. Porsche running 3rd and 5th, Corvette in 4th. #51 488GTE (Calado/Pier-Guidi) competes directly for the GT-PRO WEC title, with Porsche being the main rival for Ferrari, in drivers' championship as well in manufacfurer's standings. (Ferrari is leading by 11 and 1(!) point respectively) Fingers crossed for both Ferrari cars fighting for the win, but also for all 488 GTE & GT3 who entered the last round in Bahrain !
No.52 488GTE (Fuoco/Molina) wins Bahrain 8hrs race in GTE-PRO class. The No.51 car succeeded to finish the race with a broken gearbox and the GTE-PRO pair Calado/Pier-Guidi secured drivers' championship! Those results mean also that Ferrari won WEC Manufacturer's title. What a relief now. That race was a thriller for title contenders.
A last hurrah for chivalry. The 458/488 GTE has been a good business for Ferrari. Althogh I guess we'll see the good old 488 around for a while in other championships.
Just like the 458, the 488 proved to be an outstanding machine on the track. Congrats to everyone at Ferrari for winning both titles.
