Sold 1973 DeTomaso Pantera

There used to be a magazing called Exotic Cars Quarterly. When I was a kid my dad would buy me a copy whenever we'd go on a family road trip. Most memorable cover was a Pantera. Droooled over that car for years. If I had the garage space I'd pick this up. Good luck with the sale. Awesome car

 

How the F do you polish the transaxle, shift linkage, UJoints and on and on? Does somebody just spend a lifetime with a Dremel?

As a fellow Pantera owner, I can tell you these cars are a blast and way underappreciated for what they give you. Also, it's a great car to own because there are no strict guidelines about what you can, should, and shouldn't do to your car. You can modify them and generally not hurt the car's value (as evidenced by how much this one is modified). Good luck to the seller and whoever buys this.

 

sweet ride. glws. I saw one in person want. I think the engine almost comes through the back glass into the cab. that's how close the engine is to your hear. amazing.

 

There's plenty of bigger tools out there that will get the majority but yes, it takes......A *LOT* of time. But as a midwest boy thru and thru (grew up in IA, grandpa was a farmer outside Perry) winters you got nothin *BUT* time.

 

Was looking at Pantera's or a 308 or building a Cobra kit car when I bought my 308. Always kinda wished I'd have bought a Pantera. So much good about them, Italian design and Ford parts. Woulda been so much easier to almost restore a Pantera than a 308. But things happen for a reason, probably never would have found this place and all the amazing folks here had I not bought the 308. And I owned a Ferrari (and now a Maserati).

Yours is an amazing example. And that is one sexy color, I love darker reds.

 

Owned mine for 38 years as 2nd owner. An all original time capsule that still drives very well and looks like new. It's not going anywhere...

I have always wanted a Pantera. I think this one is too nice for me.

 

It has certainly been Douged up big time!!! Lol. All chromed, and flared, and shiny, and impeccably clean.






Beside there are a couple of pics of it outside, so it is ruined!!!



BTW, for anyone interested, I know Doug. He only has perfect cars.
