Auctions aren’t particularly kind to US 25ths. Will be interesting to see how the downdraft does in the Russo and Steele auction in a few days, although I’m afraid a few things work against it.

    - Odd choice for an auction house. Beneath the car, frankly. Would have been nice if the owner went with RM, Goodings or Bonhams.

    - That car seems to raise eyebrows, given that it’s floated around a bit. I’m not sure if it deserves suspicion but it does, nonetheless.

Fingers crossed that it does well.

Russo and Steele didn’t even bother to properly photograph it. I believe this photos were taken by John at Curated when he was selling the car not long ago. Still baffled why anyone would send a Downdraft to that auction house.

The reserve might be too high for it to sell.

What does RNM mean? My understanding is that this car was a no sale.

I called the dealer selling this car. He said he paid 330k 3 years ago and the lowest he would take would be 290-295.

    Missed these posts.

I was surprised also, but I think the reason is he's going a different direction into the new cars (new Ford GT etc) and he has a relationship with this auction house, so this is a quick & convenient way for him to find it a new home.

I think it will be $675k.

I am told Downdraft FLA12835 hammered @ $590k, so in theory $649k all in if my math is correct.
