Claudio Zampolli has passed away.

Another one joins the great Engineers in the Sky.

Claudio went to America to help set up Lamborghini dealerships and eventually opened his own Exotic Sports Car Dealership and Repair Shop. He even introduced his customers Sammy Hagar and Eddie Van Halen to each other after Van Halen’s split with David Lee Roth.

RIP

 

Claudio will be missed, he was always very helpful for the Lamborghini community. I will miss him.

 

Oh no! Not Van Hagar... kidding. Cool anecdote, he surely lived a full life. RIP Claudio

 

A true engineer, pioneer and enthusiast, Claudio was always kind and helpful to me. RIP.

In early 1989 I bought a new 88 Countach that was trucked over from NH to CA. It arrived with a half worn clutch (lambo blamed the trucker's wife who loaded it and backed it out of the truck). With no service dealerships in socal, I was asked to drive it (!) to Zampolli (RIP)
He took very good care of it and of me and in the process introduced me to Leno who was having some work don.e on his Espada. Great memories!
