The pieces seem more in common with a 5000S kit (mainly because of the hammer), though, given the inconsistencies with Lamborghini in that era, I don’t doubt at all that it’s a QV kit. That said, the most common thing I have found to be the case with most 25th kits are yellow translucent screw drivers (see photo). Regardless, seems like a very nice kit and a great opportunity for someone needing one. Just needs original gloves and a little cleaning up. As time has passed, the original gloves have become the most difficult to find. Obviously, being that they are were made of leather, many who weren’t cared for exceptionally well ended up deteriorating from exposure to poor environments.
Hard to find piece available for anyone missing the original Philips bulb and fuse container. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Lamborghini-Countach-tool-pot-toolkit-bulb-container-/255229472799?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m2548.l6249&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0
Would depend on condition and if all the other pieces are intact, and the bag was original in good condition. Range would likely be $5000 - $12,000. If it was in pieces with many missing parts, disputed originality, etc. - than much lower. Happy to look at what you have if you want a more thurough opinion. Just ping if you like.
Waiting? Does someone owe you one or supposed to deliver one to you? It took me literally years to find all the ancillaries I needed.
I wish I just keep searching my little circle for one. So, nobody owes me anything. I do want one so should one present itself that is complete or close to it, I am ready to purchase
It always amazes me that the cars and tools get separated, and more to the point, where they do end up when separated from the cars. Perhaps one day someone will stumble across the warehouse where all the toolkits from the Lambos, Ferraris etc are all stashed, and a happy reunion will take place!
Agreed. For all I know I bought my own tool kit. The sad reality is, most, if not all of these kits that surface for sale were stolen.
This tool kit for a 5000S is available. If anyone is interested, I am happy to put you in touch with the seller. I am not involved in this sale in any way. Just trying to help. It’s an interesting kit. I have never seen a square Philips bulb and fuse case, so I’m not certain if that is original. It is also missing the leather gloves and a belt. Some 5000S kits also came with long pliers as well. Otherwise, it seems rather intact. If the bulb/fuse case bothers the new owner, there is a correct round case for sale currently in eBay. The hammer is interesting. Below is from the 5000S owners manual. While many things are inconsistent, as is common with Lamborghini from this era, the hammer should always be included in a 5000S kit. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Makes me chuckle when I see metal hammers in kits. And those should be rubber or hard plastic with knock-offs. Me mind thinks it's there for frustration on the side of the road .
nice kit the square bulb holder is a first for me to! i have to say is correct brand and even colors are the most frequently seen on round boxes ...
Two pieces that are correct for a Downdraft tool kit, at unusually good prices: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Ferrari-308-365-328-spark-plug-wrench-tool-kit-20-8-Mondial-Lamborghini-Countach-/265380841820?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m2548.l6249&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0 https://www.ebay.com/itm/Pliers-adaptable-NOS-Lamborghini-Jalpa-Countach-QV-tool-kit-Silhouette-Urraco-/254651722546?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m2548.l6249&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0
25th Anniversary kit included with this car: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1989-lamborghini-countach-anniversary/ Gloves (always the most difficult piece if a kit to find) seem to be in good condition. Bulb pot not visible and can’t really see the individual pieces, but it seems to be a good kit. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
It's important to point out hat not all Countach tool kits were supplied with the cars from the factory with gloves.
One interesting observation I've noticed over the years looking at many tool kits are the red lined "Nuova Lamborghini" leather gloves. It seems they started making an appearance very late in QV kits and almost exclusively in Anniversary kits. Prior QV gloves were mostly blue lined, though I have seen some red and black as well as the very rare gloves in a whole solid color (as referenced earlier in the thread). I'd be curious if any Anniversary owners who still have their original leather gloves have a different color lining.
QV gloves are mostly lined with dark blue tape with the Lamborghini shield titled Nuova Lamborghini silkscreened in dark blue onto the body, the only other variation of tape used by the manufacturer of those gloves I have personally recorded for QV are dark brown, as below. Typically gloves that came with QV toolkits used the aforementioned dark blue tape. Image Unavailable, Please Login
From what I have personally observed, many people are supplementing Countach toolkits with gloves that either were never there in then first place, or, gloves that are from a later era that relates to the Diablo. Image Unavailable, Please Login
As mentioned before, many Countachs left the factory with no gloves, my UK QV GLA12912 which was totally original when I purchased it from the 1st owner had a toolkit with no gloves, as have a fair number of other totally original 1-owner cars I have observed since. So it's important to point out that not all Countachs came from the factory with toolkits with gloves in them, some people think they are missing gloves when they may not be. I inspected the ultra-low miles 1-owner KLA12691 at Motorcars International many years ago and it came complete with original books, jack & tools in the wrapper, original window sticker etc, there were definitely no gloves supplied.
