Well, if you folks thought $860K was big.....here comes another https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1988-lamborghini-countach-5000qv-5/?utm_source=dm&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=2022-04-26
The BAT example was interesting. Nice car but needs DOT reversion and removal of rockers which is not cheap . Ive been saying for some time, as soon as the cars got past the point of resorting and nice exambles were worth revsion of the DOT attrocities, these cars would be up to the value they deserve . Now you are seeing it. Soon there will be no CT below a million dollars. While the DD will always carry a big premium, (like an SV muira) as the owner of both a DD (for 20 years) and FI QV, I can say the FI sure has advantages in driveablity. All countaches passing a million not if but when.
Why would you want to trade something so cool for something they are printing at an increasingly higher rate?
Not that I would It’s good to let the wife know that certain choices were actually good instead of a disaster
what controls the FI on these cars. the LM002 has the early Diablo LIE's, but these don't? What is the system?
The Bosch K-Jetronic system. It is essentially (2) 6 cylinder units (one for each bank). The K-Jetronic is easy to get parts for, as it was used on Porsche, BMW, Saab, Volvo, Ferrari, DeLorean and numerous other cars from the 80’s. I put together a cross reference years ago of the part numbers used on the various cars. Just off the top of my head I remember the cold start injectors are the same as used on the BMW 320I. The fuel injectors were used on numerous cars. Mike
Not sure if I could upload an excel spreadsheet sheet, so I snapped an image of it. Bear in mind, I made this up about 6-7 years ago, so prices have changed as well as some of the places where you could buy them. Mike Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thank you Mike, I am compiling information on the LIE system in the FI LM002 and early Diablo, this is helpful. The Bosch was short lived, how many years in total? big development for Lamborghini to move to its own FI system in the late 80’s
Geno, Not sure about the 5000S cars, but the USA 5000QV cars of 1985, 1986, 1987, 1988, 1988.5 and 25th anniversary used the Bosch K-Jetronic system. Mike
Hey Guys, Just asking: Could this have come from an FI QV 1988.5? Particularly wondering about the heat shield Thanks in advance Peter Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Do the carved qv’s have this shield or just the fuel injected qv’s might be there because of the heat from the cats?
My 87 has this heat shield, but it’s only the flat piece above the cats. Mine does not have piece that covers the exhaust tips.
Sorry disregard engine photo♂️ Basically I’ve been offered this silencer set for my US spec 1988.5 but am not sure it’s correct.
