I've not got a problem with paint correction. In fact, mine is due to be done later on this month. Obv you have to have an experienced person who appreciates the work involved and the single coat / thickness. Chap I'm using has done 3 Countach's prior to mine.

We are going to use a wax but the wax has some ceramic like properties, kamikaze infinity wax, so lasts longer, resist abrasion etc. In the event of an accident the body shop will have to remove and prepare the surface anyway. So I'm ok with that.

    But each to their own

I was also debating if I should ceramic coat my Countach also. I also was wondering what people are using on their interior?

I think he's speaking of the permanent chemical process of ceramic coating, which is what I was responding to https://www.solarshadewindowtint.com/the-pros-and-cons-of-ceramic-coating-a-car this is quite different from paint-correction with wax.

with you on this. Ceramic coating have no business on old fragile single stage paint, for all kinds of future obvious reasons. We use it on the boats, if the customer absolutely requires it, but our painters hate it for repair reasons.

Sorry to dredge up a really old comment, but I now have Andrej's car and am trying to find out what brakes are actually on it - I believe they are the MOV'IT ones, but does anyone have a clue what the specs are? If I have to replace rotors or pads, how do I work out what I need? I've searched everywhere and come up blank.

    Hi Dean,
if you have movit brakes then the parts come mainly from Porsche. When you post some pictures we could confirm.

I would have rebuilt these rather than presumably go to Konis.

Thanks Raymond. The car is currently at Evans getting a full engine rebuild but once it arrives in NZ I will get some pictures and post them.

I tried contacting them - I think from memory they told me to go to their website and search my make and model and it would have everything there. I think they are unaware of the old Countach kit now.

Same opinion! But the workshop who performed the repair/restoration had troubles at that time to find a workshop who can restore the shocks...

Hi Dean, a hazy memory says the parts are 928 S2 or 3 rotors and callipers.

Just out of curiosity, what is everyone's opinion on the new countach lp800-4? Personally, I think they did a disservice towards the original car.

I have no issues with anyone liking the car. Though I personally think it's awful, it's purely subjective and everyone is entitled to their own tastes. The issue for me is calling it a Countach. The mere suggestion that the car is at all tied to the lineage of the Countach is horrible. Lastly, the way Lamborghini positioned the car via its own marketing by creating a false impression that Marcello Gandini was somehow a supporter or endorser of the design was just terrible, and frankly unethical. I wish they had left well enough alone and never came out with anything. Instead, they used the occasion of the Countach's 50th anniversary to sell a limited edition, reskinned Aventador to a select number of modern clientele.
