I use the brushless on my front engine cars but not on my rear engine ones because of high pressure water hitting the electronics and hot engine
Never will used one. But do say if it is a well maintained brushless carwash, it does a better and safer job than some people I know who wash their cars.
having a drought situation here in central florida, so washing cars at home has been banned. anyone have experience using touchless car washes for their car? i'd be worried about sucking water/soap through the intakes. any thoughts? thx
very true. Sometimes when I have no choice I’ll go to the do it yourself car wash place and I show up with two buckets brand new mits and brand new microfibers. There is always somebody there with a very nice exotic car using the foaming brush on their paint. 15 minutes ago that brush was cleaning truck wheels.
I always take my Ferraris through a touchless wash between details. Then I decided to buy the washes. I own 4 of them now. I would never take it through one with brushes. Too many horror stories. As long as they’re maintained properly they’re very safe and reliable. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
Sorry just saw this…To make money, of course. They’ve been great passive income sources. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
A word of caution on touchless car washes. Since nothing touches the car they typically use stronger chemicals. So it can be hard on wax, sealant, PPF etc. The possible damage to seals and trim is worse. The biggest risk is damage to the Ceramic brakes. Always be careful what you spray on your brakes. Never spray a chemical on a hot brake. The car should be cool. Driving into a touch free and immediately getting a blast of mystery chemical on your Ferrari ceramic brakes could be a costly mistake.
I never used a touchless carwash, I prefer a hand wash. What about a regular car wash (rollers) when you are in a rush?
I find it sad that anyone would consider taking their Ferrari through an automatic car wash. I sure hope if you do it is one that you drive into and it tells you when to stop and not one of those ones that pulls the car through between two bars.
the ones with rollers is worse. the proper method is a 2 bucket method. Fill both buckets with soapy water. Mit goes in bucket 1 and into car. Then the mit goes into bucket 2 to shake away dirt. Then back into bucket 1, then back on the car. you can go a lot further than this, and I do, but this is the bare minimum to properly hand, wash your car without doing more harm than good
I've used Laserwash touch-free with all my cars- Wipe down immediately after exit and use a quick detailer- Never had an issue -
I did not know that a carwash using rollers was worse than the touchless ones (due to chemicals). Anyway, I never used a touchless or regular carwash for my Cali30: I only bring her to facilities that wash her by hand.
Is there REALLY an automatic car wash thread on a Ferrari forum???!!!!! GOOD LORD, Don't dare bring ANY car through ANY car wash, much less a Ferrari!!!! Holy crap, I can't believe anyone on this forum even considers it.
