Here is Gendebien with the car at Spa in 1953. The car is still in its original blue and green. We can also see that the door handles have been added to facilitate quick race entry along with extra dash board instrumentation. Clearly over the next decade, the little Barchetta suffered the knocks and bangs of a racing car, leaving her in need of restorative surgery on the nose and the tail. This was commenced by Jacques Swaters and eventually finished off by Touring Superleggera in 2019 when the correct rear teardrop tail lights were fitted. Photo from the Alexis Cahier Archive. I really like this shot, as it shows how sensual and voluptuous (truly Italian) her flanks and rear are.
