What Tassie needs is more modern homes like the style in NZ South Island ,both islands are similar, similar power, weather and numbers .. If I ever mover there I'll either build or buy modern ..with land ,I could never live in a dog box or a unit or flat ..
A colleague stayed here, cool place and think it sold recently https://www.nine.com.au/property/news/the-keep-short-stay-accommodation-goulds-country-tasmania-for-sale-3-million-dollars/9df7e579-6134-4930-b3c4-33115c985da7
Pretty much in line with my expectations. Some skin of the Dictator, but not much. Pleasing at least that the fake independents did poorly. It seems they only appeal when it's to try to unseat a "conservative" government - quotes deliberate. Dan is already so far left that what's the point in voting for the teals?
Dan was always going to win. I was so happy in my area the 2 Teals were defeated ,there fakes and us smart ones know it . In general there supporter base yesterday older people ,most on the pension or just giving it one final GO. Young didn't identify with them ,there just middle aged white woman selected by a committee with the single pledge to knock off a sitting LIB, I ask why do they NOT run in Labor seats ? On 1st preference both local areas the LIBS had 42% plus of votes while the WHITE middle aged middle class Teals has 20%....they rely on the ALP and Green preference count to get ...as did Ryan in Kooyong...they are a very ordinary lot ....with a selection committee /so called independents its a party . Many in Kooyong are over Ryan as she has broken every promise she made 6 months ago. You would understand being a student of Australian and American politics !
Very astute observations. But I’d expect that from you as a student of Australian and American politics. As I watched this campaign it struck me how one dimensional the teals are, from a candidate point of view. Remarkably un-diverse. They also only seem to appeal to white, inner-city, bored doctors-wives types who’d almost certainly call the cops if they saw a black person or Muslim in their street. The hypocrisy is hilarious, really.
Plenty of the soccer mums this time voted Lib ,as they are concerned about driving an EV instead of the AMG/Porker 4wd . You'll notice that the Teals never get involve in the First Nation Issues or Chinah.. Its the same old concerns and people have moved on in general .
I’m surprised that a “student of Australian politics” hasn’t worked out that the Teals are disgruntled Liberals, NOT undercover Labour people.
ANY student of Australian politics ......would be smart enough to know that 4 "Teals" so called independents that stood for various seats in the weekends Victorian election , would KNOW their backgrounds ? 1.Is an ex union official/Labor member who left the union on having a kid. 2.One is an ex member of the Labor party . 3.Is without doubt a chardonnay socialist who failed in business. 4.Ex Greens supporter who rents . All 4 have failed with pathetic preference votes of around 20% and under and were only in the "hunt" based on second preferences ! As for "FED " ones ex Public hospital ex Labor member ex ABC Journo The others interstate NFI except they are ALL white ,middle class middle aged and their vote in the Federal Lower house is worth SHLT.
