I have epoxy at my work, it was installed 13 year ago and is holding up remarkably. Only wear spots are right by the door where hi-lo's run in and out. I also have epoxy in my race car shop and even if I spill oil I think it is just a little more slippery than bare concrete. Certainly is easy to clean, just a mop and a bucket. I have race deck in my home garage, the wife loves it, but I hate it. Buckles during temperature changes and I can't wait to see what the underneath will look like after all those years of stuff flowing under it.
I am a member on that site as is Jim. There is a lot of good info on that site but I fell into all the hype with Legacy epoxy. The rep that sells is on that thread a lot. I spent a ton of money buying his epoxy system, Which by the way is just rebranded and re labled from a paint manufacturer..cant remember the name. The paint is junk and my floor turned olive green after 2 months. No one could help me. It was determined the clear was bad. I now stripped the floor and used Sherwin Williams from the industrial line and the pain is fantastic. 2 years and still looks brand new. One tip.... don't go with fleck if you plan on working on our car. If you drop a nut or bolt it takes forever to find! Image Unavailable, Please Login

We are currently starting to build our garage. We would prefer white tile but may need to phase of economize based on the size and its other amenities. The white epoxy is our second choice. We love the wood looking tile above and the white epoxy. Great input and photos. Robb
White, I find, is a good choice, Robb. There is a great deal of difference in brightness between white and even a pale grey floor. I have white tile and epoxy in one garage and decided on a pale grey in another garage. The difference is great; I wish I'd gone for white in all cases.
Andres has one of the most beautiful garages I have seen. I agree white is the way to go. If you are building new I would look at colored integral concrete. When I redo my garage that is what I plan to do. A proper finish and simple seal will look fantastic. Also terazzo is an option , it is expensive but will last a lifetime.

I’ll be starting a garage build here very soon and starting to consider what I should coat the floor with before I start moving in equipment and cars. What’s your experience and suggestions for products and techniques? Epoxy? Something else? I’m going to use a very light color for light reflection properties. Thanks for any tips!

I had the race deck flooring in my old garage, and while I loved the look, I found it loud to walk on, harder than I would like to keep clean, and that it would expand and buckle in the hot sun. I decided to go with epoxy this time. Floors were ground down and the base coat and flakes applied on day one, then a clear coat on day 2. Still haven’t driven on it but am very pleased with the look…
Exact same experience here. I’m now 4.5 years into my professionally installed epoxy floor on a 5-bay garage and couldn’t be happier.
In my opinion the epoxy flake floor with the clear over it is the way to go. Really transforms the garage. I used mostly white with a small amount of light gray, light tan, and just a very small amount of dark brown and black.
