    Hi there,

Does anyone have an interior shot of the screw that hold the door trim in place on the edges? I definitely don't have the original and I replaced it with what you see here. Where can I find the original?

Also on the motor, where can I find this screw/clamp. From my last major, they mysteriously got replaced with something else. Damn....

Just today I was in Home depot, Lowes and advanced auto for a screw too.

That screw which holds the door panel, I saw those in Home Depot and Lowes here in NJ.

They were referred to as "decorative screws". It has a tapered head. Try doing a search on google for this too and definetly give Dan a call at Ricambi, maybe he has it. Never know....

    Good luck...

    John,

Does that screw look like the original on your car? I don't even know what it should look like. Does it have the silver trim with the black screw in the middle. The screw you see there is not the original.

You should have Wurth represented in your part of the world and they stock the interior screw and countersunk pressed washer . you should be able to fiind something that matches

The clamp he shows is correct, the worm gear clamp is rather universally used but wrong. The earlier 308 door panel screws were slotted head, not Phillips. I am not sure when they changed but I believe it was around 83.

    Hi Brian,

Here is my engine showing those clamps.

Since both types are used, how many of the non spiral types are used and where?

    Tony

PS: If you guys think my car is a good reference for original items, I will be happy to take and post any pictures.

Thanks for the good pictures. I know that the upper clamp was the right one since I had them both on the pipes before the major. After the major, the clamps were replaced. I know since I purposely took before and after photos and noticed the worm type clamps on the bottom of the pipe. You guys all know where I went to get the major so I'm not too impressed with the level of detail that I should have received from a 7k major.

It's good to see the door panel screws. I guess I have to look for other replacements. Anyone know if the local hardware stores carry them or is this a ferrari-only part.

Extremely nice 308! I've been following your other thread. Any photos of the bottom of the car?

From what I can see, except for the chrome torque strut that is a very nice engine compartment.

Nothing very unique about these clamps; they were also used in Fiats of that era.

Check your local Fiat parts house or breaker's yard.

FYI the door panel (card) screws on my 78 GTS US are slotted not Philips. Kind of strange but I know they are original. The screws and "rings" are black. The speaker grill screws are black Philips.

Those clamps are not available. I have checked over the years a number of places, there are some small size ones that are close, but nothing in the larger sizes. Used ones on ebay come up from time to time at prices that are ridiculous. They don't clamp as evenly as the worm type clamps, which were used on the later cars.

When I redid the interior of mine I found the door card held in be seven screws of three different types. I replace them all with the same size and pitch. A buddy with a F430 said he had the same experience. I can only imagine what sitting on the assembly line in Maranello.

I think it's actually gloss black but the lighting makes it look chrome.

They are typically called Sherman clamps...will help with on line searches to use that term...
