Great news Carlie!!: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-11-16/1000-teslas-recalled-over-serious-fault/101662820
Few weeks ago I got a lift to the airport in a mid sized Tesla ...to be honest , I felt unsafe in it ,it just did not handle ..
Whom would move, with their electriic car,to a flat that didn't have a garage with electricity to charge their shoitbox: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-11-29/lack-of-street-chargers-for-electric-cars-a-problem-for-buyers/101461778
Frankly I think the cities should adopt the Singapore principle - you can’t register a car unless you can prove you have a permanent off-road parking place. The roads around here are getting clogged with cars, boats, caravan etc etc that people don’t park in their garages because the garages are filled up with junk / toys.
The future with EVs ...................The ability of a Social GOVT to just turn off the power to the EV or restrict its power or travel distance from a far away computer terminal..................Welcome to the new order .
thinking of "1984" the EV is the ultimate Social Government control weapon....Power issues in your country on a day there is NO sun or wind, traffic jams or just to control members of the public ....so as the elite woke can go for a drive ! Just from a central switch board ......turn of the EVS GO button...think about it ,can be done and is already being done with EV BMWs & 'Benz's with heated seats in Europe and buy or have speed limit of around 130kph .
Oxford in the UK is introducing the UN's "15 minute city" rule, whereby residents are only allowed 100 car trips per year outside of 15 minutes walk or cycle from their home address. The idea comes from COVID lockdowns. In future, it will be simple for council overlords to reduce the 100 trips to 0 and increase the penalties. The green left sell this as saving the planet, but it's really about control, just like China's social credit system.
"CAZ" is already enforced in other UK towns ,a quick Google will tell us Canterbury is about to do the same as Oxford and many well known Scottish cities have similar rulings to London. The end result will be many of us car loving "folks" will move to a very comfortable rural form of living .
Not quite what the ACTUAL proposal is: https://www.oxfordmail.co.uk/news/23073992.traffic-filters-will-divide-city-six-15-minute-neighbourhoods-agrees-highways-councillor/ Entry into Oxford city has been a nightmare for at least 13 years...
Get lost Karen, it's precisely what I described. Did you ACTUALLY read the article you linked to? "People can drive freely around their own neighbourhood and can apply for a permit to drive through the filters, and into other neighbourhoods, for up to 100 days per year."
Have you followed proposed legislation for Switzerland on days of power loss ..................banning EV cars ..
Quote: “The alternative is to drive out to the ring road and back into the desired segment”. You can drive your car whenever you like as long as it is not through the congested areas.
There goes your Chinah social credit score down the drain.....can't see you being invited to Phillip island in March ..........With such a poor social credit score !
So you have to drive further than necessary to get where you want to go. So much for saving the planet.
