As far as I'm aware have to know somebody at the factory (the supplier not Ferrari). It's still manufactured in black, red, and yellow but not supplied to the public as it was an OE spec.

A friend in Italy gave some for my retrim but he has connections in the industry. Let check with him about current status.

My friend has sent them a mail. I'll update you when we have a response (It's Italy - it may be a few days).

I would recommend relicate upholstery. They are very well known for things like this or can point you in the right direction.

That is very kind of you to help out a fellow F chatter. And if he needs a certain critical mass for a group order, id join in and buy some black/yellow tech fabric too!

relicate uses westtrading.nl for all their oem fabrics which is a good place to start. These fabrics are usually not sold retail. The only way they get into our hands is when the fabric or seating factory sells run offs or close outs to bigger buyers that buy factory leftovers.

So how does one "best" repair/patch/recover a seat in car that is ~13 years old?

Tricky situation. Here are your options:

    1. Buy a used seat
    2. Buy a used seat in bad shape and harvest material
    3. Find original material to replace bad section
    4. Find something similar and replace both inserts for a uniform look
    5. Have a new unique cover made that's a "tribute" to the original

FYI, suppliers like parts bins so it's not out of the question to find similar material being used on something else in the family, i.e. Fiat.

Here's something from Fiat that could very well be identical. It could also be slightly off. Worth a shot:

another option...harvest the headliner and replace the headliner with something different since you never look up there anyway! On my car at least, it is the same fabric as the seats.
