These guys have all Factory Parts before say 1990 or so, Ferrari just dumped them on them It will come in a yellow box with little horsies! In the US, I find Algar, our sponser Ricambi, or TRutlands in Georgia are the reliable vendors of Factory level parts.
Do you have a link to the filter? Looks like maranillo is charging $150 for a $5 generic fuel sock. I’ll pass on that. as far as the acetone, I bought some ethanol cleaner that will break down the deposits made for fuel tanks. Flushes up to 40 gallons. Going to add it to the empty tank, power wash through the sending unit hole, let it sit over night and drain. Should do the trick.
I ordered one from 4wheelParts and waiting to come in - I will let everyone know if this is a solution.
There are some other options, but doesn’t show size. https://www.ebay.com/itm/314166633112?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=g7rgexnrtyi&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=hcxNGCeCS6m&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY https://www.ebay.com/itm/314166633112?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=g7rgexnrtyi&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=hcxNGCeCS6m&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY https://www.ebay.com/itm/175186268079?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=_WqsE5PXRe6&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=hcxNGCeCS6m&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
The VW seems similar, but again no sizing. https://www.ebay.com/itm/153402273915?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=6oV0rPB_Qiq&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=hcxNGCeCS6m&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
I’m sorry if you may think this is polluting without precise information. I’m just throwing there some ideas that might resmemble something similar to help
I was able to clean the original one with lacquer thinner. Acetone worked ok which is what I will be putting in the tanks to soak for a day. The fuel tank cleaner I bought above is useless and did nothing to break down the gel. But they got their money out of me so hey. Pics to follow.
Well the screen although clean eventually broke free of the glue holding it to the plastic. But Lacquer thinner broke down the ethanol the best. So after looking at 100’s of these “similar” ones, none had any sizing and I couldn’t confirm fitment at all. So, went with the sock. Cut the metal adapter off and we’re good. Add a few zip ties to hold it on. Or small hose clamp. I like the stainless hose clamp idea better. Part number shown on the box and with tax it was $6. next up, flushing the tanks using acetone and boiling water letting it sit. Drain and let dry. Then sending unit, pump and accumulator set up, hoses etc etc. stay tuned! Image Unavailable, Please Login

A late reply to this particular post but........ Something to bear in mind is that Maranello Classic Parts (aka ferrariparts.co.uk ) are essentially Ferrari S.p.A's parts department for their classic car back catalogue. They're not an alternative supplier or a discount supplier of Ferrari parts, they're the Ferrari classic car World version of ordering parts for a new Ferrari through a dealership, so in general, you're paying full Ferrari prices for the parts. To be fair to Maranello Classic Parts, despite being a Ferrari approved, official supplier of spare parts for classic Ferrari's, they're not always the most expensive source for parts. There are occasions when their parts are cheaper than the same part sold by Eurospares.co.uk , who are an independent supplier of Ferrari parts (there is rarely a "night and day" difference in the pricing of their respective parts, but on quite a few occasions, Maranello Classic Parts are the cheaper option of the two - It pays to price compare before committing to a purchase)
Timing Belts done. Dayco belts from Superperrformance as well as the Upgraded Tensioner bearings. Used this video as a reference. Pretty simple job really. Not a big fan of how this guy sets the tension, but I'm confident in how i set them up. The originals were pretty loose. Next up is re-assembling the fuel system, put a battery in and see what happens!!! Oh, and figuring out why its stuck in 1st gear now. Clutch in or out, wont budge. a lot of the time the clutch is stuck to the flywheel - usually start the car in gear - hold the clutch pedal down at the same time and you will hear a thump - when the clutch releases and it should work - likely need to be replace that at some point and refinish the flywheel.
I have had a lot of rusted solid clutches work perfectly after being unstuck. Have not had to replace one yet.
Yep, I was just thinking that if its been on there a long time - it may be worth renewing... not expensive if you are doing the work your self.... sadly I was never able to do so!
Thats not the case at all. The company name is now Maranello Classics. Ferrari has no real desire to be in the parts business. All parts for all cars at this point probably from 458, maybe 430 and prior come from Maranello Classics. When the cars get a few models old Ferrari gives them all the parts and all the blueprints and Maranello Classics has sole world wide rights to sell and manufacture original Ferrari parts. It has been going on for many many years. If you order a 430 part from the dealer, that order goes to FNA to Ferrari spa to Maranello Classics and back the same way.
The off thing is, the car rolls fine when the clutch is pressed in, and doesn't, as it should, when released. Also, when turning the engine, it goes in reverse, while in first gear. Seems like a fork misalignment issue. Yayyyy. Also, the clutch has stuck before. I found a service record from before my time stating exactly that and it was "Freed" up. For $300, i will be replacing it and resurfacing the flywheel.
Ok. Moving on down the line, injector cleaning and fuel distribution clean and flush ? How? looking for all the gaskets for these hard coolant lines, intake, and all the coolant hoses. Ssi? lastly, I thought the injectors just had the one 0-ring around the injector itself like any other I’ve seen. There is a plastic insert with another oring on the outside. Where can I find the larger set of o rings? Thanks! Feel free to insert comments or suggestions. Thanks!! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
