Was just informed my TM 812GTS is Status 70! With COVID and shipping delays, does anyone have current timeframe for delivery? Would be US car. Thanks everyone.
Based on history 6 to 8 weeks before your dealer will have it. If you were told status 70 car is likely completed by now. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
My car was shipped ~Dec 21 and is still on the water as of Wednesday. Once it's off the water, 1-2 weeks until my Chicago dealer receives it.
Depends on where you are located in the country. I know of at least a couple different cars that had to wait between 1-2 months in the port before they got on a truck to the dealer. The other option is air freight, though the quotes for that have been as high as the planes fly, so might not be a great choice. July 2020 my 812 cost about $16.5k to fly from Italy to Seattle. I've seen quotes in the $30k+ range recently.
45k cad airfreight. Sayeth the late, great Richard Jeni from the mask: only the crème de la crème need apply.
My SF90 was supposed to be on a ship in early December. Still not landed. I believe that many of the status 90 cars are still in Italy awaiting a ship or containers.I just hope they store them in good shelters.
I hope so to. A few years ago when visiting the factory, I noticed that around a third of cars in Modena were covered in golf ball sized dents all over the car. The taxi driver told me there have been a massive hail storm that damaged 1000's of cars, the cars had been written off and then bought back as there was nothing wrong with them mechanically, but it would cost too much to fix most of them so they drove them as is. He then went on to tell us, his family had to leave their home the year before, because of the earthquake risk!! Makes me glad we live in mundane England.
Completed brand new cars are usually stored at the huge logistic warehouse of SAIMA in nearby Formigine (near Maranello). There are six floors full of brand new Ferraris. In December the factory held back many dozen if not hundreds of finished and completed cars, so that they could finish the bookkeeping year properly for the stock market. All these cars were then "transferred" from the last quarter 2021 to the 1st quarter of 2022. This is a typical bookkeeping trick, they do this often, every quarter or so, to keep shareholders happy. That's all what really matters. Marcel Massini
Pricing for air has gone up considerably…flew my Roma and 812 over and the price doubled in the span of 12 months. Not sure I will do it again but it definitely cuts a ton of time out, especially getting logged jammed in NJ.
Air shipped mine as well. Preserved essentially perfect paint. And reduced ship time to a week. Still the car spent two months in the warehouse so Ferrari could manage their earnings, I suppose… SV
I am actually liking the delay. I won't be driving the GTS in Chicago until at least April anyway. Status to on water changed on 12/21 and it's still on the water. Probably 2 weeks to go from NJ to Chicago and then another 2-3 weeks for ceramic coating and plastic film application gets me close to April which is perfect. If it's on the water for another month or more, I won't be as happy.
Nice! It will be perfect timing in the spring. I got lucky on flying both mine as to not have them held up in storage. Seriously considering a 296 and P. Bummed I didn’t get an f8, really like the look.
Well my car went to status90 2 weeks ago and I have been trying to figure this out… AsI know the vessel leaves from Genoa and doesnt do any stop until NJ. I calculated the total distance and I found out that the total distance is 4750 miles on the water. I know that those vessels do around 18 miles per hour and they go nonstop so the journey should be 11 days. Lets say I am off somehow and say it is 2 weeks… so I dont understand how come people wait for it for months
Incredible delays at the Port of New Jersey. My wife's Portofino M left Italy in June and finally made it to San Diego in September: loaded on a boat 6/9/22 third picture 6/11/22 confirmed at Port of New Jersey, waiting for customs 8/20/22 on a truck headed to San Diego 8/29/22 arrived at dealer 9/7/22 (dealer prep, PPF) picked up 9/23/22 My dealer had zero visibility between shipping and "confirmed" at Port, most likely sitting in a shipping container for about two months after the two week trip from Italy to New Jersey.
My 812 GTS went status 70 October 15th then status 90 October 26th. On November 15th my sales associate told me the car has shipped but I thought that is what status 90 means, regardless I am having trouble trying to figure out what vessel it is on heading over to New Jersey and when it should arrive. Any help is appreciated, thank you!
The two main ships I believe are the Chicago Express and the Vienna Express arriving in New Jersey. Mine arrived this spring on one of these two. Basically, once a month a ship arrives I believe? Check the website marinetraffic.com - it was very helpful and you can track the ships voyage. Good luck!
I checked both but they were nowhere near Geneo when I was told the car was shipped, the only boat that was there when it was shipped that I have read ferrari uses was the CMA CGM Dalila which went to Norfolk not Newark when it arrived in the US this week.
Mine went status 90 early June (which I believe means ready for shipping but may not mean on the boat yet) but it missed the ships going out at that time so it sat in status 90 at port til late July when ships returned and it was put on ship to NJ Port. Arrived mid Aug in NJ Port and went Status 91 meaning made it through customs and that happened 2 days after docking. car was delivered early Sept to west coast the ships called out are the right ones but as you mentioned not all go to NJ Port
in status 90 notification I got it says it is on the water. That supposes to mean it is navigating not waiting… the car is waiting during 85.
no way my car was on water from early June to mid August. So in my recent case and similar to post 16 above, status 90 meant ready to be loaded but it was almost 2 months before on the water. I was able to watch the boats that left early June and only once they returned did my car make it on the boat and to the Port I expect that in normal times this cycle time is much faster
