Rob - Hard to say based on a quick read of their BaT profile (they also bought a modified Bug, couple of 240Z's, Targa/G50, 928 and a GT-R all in the past two months) LMK what you think, link at: https://bringatrailer.com/member/thebo/

I'm trying to get over 70k for a Datsun Z:eek:
Tough to say doesn't look like he is buying below market with most of the cars he has picked up but he has good taste.

Pretty low considering that euro cars are more desirable at least look wise.

It's the wrong time of the year to sell a 308 on BAT Thanksgiving to New Years day. It's not a car where money does not matter. Look at other cars, TRs, Ford GTs, Boxers and they are doing what is expected. It's the reason I told BAT my car will not go up until next Feb. They wanted it up now. Not a chance I want to sell at reserve or worse not make reserve.

Bat cancelled that high bid after contacting the bidder. He looked like a legit guy, having bid on several $100k + cars, but for those that missed it, the ad for a 1981 GTSi started yesterday, got a bid or two around $10k to open the bidding then a guy jumped in with 7 days to go and bid $115,000. He was probably trying to bid $11,500 or $15,000.

Asking price and selling price are two different things

    We'll see.

I didn’t look too hard at the photos, but saw several issues that make me doubt the low mileage and “elite” condition the price would suggest. They’ll never sell at that price or anywhere remotely close to that ballpark.

Oh I agree - the asking price is nuts. I'm curious what specifically you saw that makes you doubt the mileage?

    well, for one thing it's a 308

    The sending units fail. Always.

Or get unplugged. I have seen and experienced both.

I like that it still has R12 and the dealer installed period and brand "correct" radio for that model.

Not to be negative but there is no way someone will pay that money regardless the condition and low mileage. Even a few months ago that prices were a little more optimistic, a 308 would not get that kind of money. The car market is getting softer and softer.

    The market has softened.

Thank God. With luck it will crash on its face. I'm looking forward to a GTB carbed.
