Apple CarPlay on centre screen

What was the production date of your car?

 

I hope that your has this.

My car was produced in Sept 2022 and it definitely does not have this in the center stack.

I have reached out to my dealer and I will find out when the USA update is coming.

 

OK. So I am sensing that this is a USA problem only then.

 

Now that I think about it, my car had a production date of July but was not 90 until around October, so maybe it has the latest software? I will see when it comes home from PPF.

Mine is a July 2021 model and I got the software update last week and now have wireless CarPlay and on the main touchscreen now

 

Are you in the U.S? So far it seems like the U.S. is the only one that doesn't have the update.

 

People replying need to specify country. So far I don’t think we’ve seen a U.S. car with the update

I checked my car while in the shop getting PPF yesterday, no update. My dealer said they have an update but it still has glitches that is why they have not been offering it yet.

 

really sucks how it shows up on the dash and covers the tach, and other items, bad design.

 

its bizarre that there is clearly something about US spec cars that is making the update not tenable for our market (yet). Really strange because from a tech stack perspective, assuming the cars all get the same hardware worldwide, I can't think of any software issue that would be geo-specific. I know the licensing is a bit unique market to market but nothing that should break it here.

 

As soon as I pick up my car I am taking it in for the update, if they have it lets see how it works, I will keep you guys posted.

Also the center screen is touch screen which is so much easier to use.

I think it has to be with regards to safety legislation that needs to be cleared.

Just like when I got my GT3 Touring with light weight bucket seats, Porsche wouldn’t let me order Pepita inserts as they were not approved with the existing airbag module below the seat cushion.

And yet all other markets got this.

So I had to get aftermarket inserts when the car arrived.

Has no one in the states received it? I have a latch issue and was going to take in (door works but warning light is on ) and this done but I may delay it.

I have it too! Comes and goes. Seems to trigger if I open door without unlocking first. Then remains for some number door opens then clears…

So my dealer in CA emailed me today and advised the update for Apple Car Play will be ready at the end of January.

 

Sounds good. I also had a brake fluid past it’s date warning. Crazy part is car went in yesterday and it’s already done. Elatch warning must be sw so they must have easily cleared it. I had the same issue when I first got it but car was first delivery to my dealer and it was a real latch issue so they couldn’t give the car back until it was resolved. they ended up swapping the latch with the demo at FNA, impressive customer service as it took theirs out of commission. Super bummed they couldn’t do the center screen update while it was in.

 

I must say again that when you get Apple Car Play on the centre screen it almost makes you feel you have a new car and it’s absolutely brilliant to use.

Also - for those who have the upgraded sound system - make sure you turn on Quantum Logic in the sound settings.

it makes the sound so so so much better!

 

Just spoke with my dealer, he said the upgrade is available for US cars but he does not recommend it yet. They have installed the upgrade into multiple cars, had so many glitches that they reverted back to the original version. He said he does not have clarity as to when the will have a 2.0 but he will keep me posted.
