348 Aftermarket Steering Wheels

To another Momo?

The only advantage is functional, IMO...(i.e. more dish). I looked at this when I got my car and decided nothing looked more appropriate than what was in my 348, and then found/went with the 2" spacer.

I do like the 360 wheel swap into 355's. 355 airbag wheel has no style...but then again it wasn't meant to have that wheel.

If you're looking at that "koenig testarossa" wheel, move with caution.
That's not an actual koenig wheel, but a rather low value V32. Which by the way, is way too small for anyone to like.

Is there a benefit to changing a steering wheel? Sure there can be. Aside from esthetics only, the size and position of the steering wheel can have a rather great impact on your driving experience. But of course, a steering wheel is the usually the first thing you see when you get in the car, and the last thing before getting out again. And it's right in fron tof your face all the time in between...

 

348 has the best factory wheel ever. I wouldn't ever think about replacing it...ever.

I know because ive been collecting momo steering wheels for close to a decade. I still dont know everything but it's easy for me to see that is a regular monte carlo momo, 32cm version. Just with an added horn ring and button. And when you look at the other pictures from the borhcure, you can also see that the steering wheel shown there is a suede wheel, not a leather on.

More than welcome, as a collector i sometimes despise the false advertising meant to lure those less knowledgeable.


The difference you are seeing between those too i cause by production period (the one from the ebay add is an older production, which still had smoother leather) and on top, the pics of the 2nd one you posted here is a 35cm version. Due to the larger size, the dimensions are different as well, giving a subtle different look.

 

As i mentioned initially, that is based on a V32, in which 32 stands for the diameter in cm. Sureley to small for normal road usage.

Is the OEM 348 steering wheel a Montecarlo or is the size different?

 

No, the standard 348 wheel is not. Its a V36 model, better known as a ghibli 3. However, the standard ghibli 3 and the 348 wheel have another minor difference as the ghibli 3 has these ergonomic, thickened grip at 10 and 2 o'clock and the OE 348 V36, does not.

 

And don't forget the Ghibli in the GTS/GTB is perforated and with a 348 logo embossed in it.
