Extending tailpipes (456GT)

I know the simple answer is probably "Put the correct damn mufflers in your Ferrari, cheap-ass"

Sourced a pair of 550 Tubi mufflers recently for a great price. While louder, The sound is pure bliss above 4000rpm, and Im learning to love the lower growl.

They mount up properly underneath, but the difference between 456 and 550 boxes is about 3 inches shorter for the 550. Im wondering if its feasible for an exhaust shop to fabricate a pair of sleeves that would secure over the current pipes and extend back to normal length past the bumper, that would look stock or even similar to Fabio or HGTC tips? Somthing that would also be not permanent if i flip the exhaust and not trap any water vapor

Hill makes bolt-on tips for the 430. I have no idea if the diameter is what you need. A machine shop could adjust the length if necessary.

 

Figure out your outside diameter and look on eBay. They have a lot of different style of tips that are not permanent. You could also google exhaust tips and you will find many different companies that make them. Good Luck

 

Seem to remember my OEM exhaust pipes were 72 mm in diameter. Measured them when I put on the obnoxiously loud Supersport, unvalved mufflers from Novitec, which had 90 mm tailpipes and required a custom set of screens. Sold long ago to a 550 owner who must be deaf and have a saint for a wife.
