I used the battery exactly how the salesman said I could use it and charged it exactly how they said I should charge it and it detonated anyway. It cost me about two grand for replacement parts for all the panels that were burned. That being said, no one was hurt, my car is once again in perfect condition, so I just put it behind me. No legal action.

I would not fit any lithium battery in a car unless it has the smarts to change charging to suit from alternator

My 360 had an electrical fault and smoking due to poor wiring harness to the alternator. Common problem in the 360--alternator got fried as well.

I think perhaps the issue you had is a model specific issue The 360 harness design, the alternator design and your battery were not a good match. Perhaps not fair to blame it all on the battery.

But anyway it's a bad event but with a satisfactory outcome. I used AGM in my 360 after the Fiamm died 6 months after delivery.

This is correct. The battery was not at issue.

I love how judgements are made on these kinds of things with zero empirical evidence.

We have plenty of empirical evidence that it was your car and not the battery

You meant to say we have no experiential evidence, which is true

I am not in the habit of bashing any business publicly as I too own a business. If anyone wants to know the details of what happened and why, feel free to send me a PM.

I wanted to post a quick update. I swapped out the battery for a fresh interstate battery and took the car for a few short rides. The error persisted. Took it to a local shop and they were able to clear the error using an ODB tool. Unfortunately it has returned a day or two later.

Planning to take it back to the shop in a few weeks but curious if anyone has more suggestions in the mean time. Thanks.

Well nice to read; but WHAT was the error code in the OBDII, did it return after clearing ?

If you put in a OBDII device it will show a code on your phone ....

Maybe even you are able to reset it ... OBDII !

I have been getting this exact warning and the LEDs on the steering wheel flashing pretty much every time I start the car since November. I have an Anti-Gravity battery and the best I can figure is that battery doesn't like the cold. And when I say cold I mean anything less than 60 degrees. It was in the 50s here in Texas when it started doing it. I had the car in the shop in November and told them about it and they said it was a loose ground. Problem persists so I'm just going to monitor cranking voltage until the Spring. Will re-visit if it continues. Hope this helps.

Interesting. I do feel like it started with the cold weather. Maybe I’ll heat my garage to 70 for a day and see if it happens upon startup.

But get yourself an OBDII device, may cost less than $ 15 !

It will tell you what the system senses !

I have one- there is no code associated with this error, at least according to my scanner.

This. I had the shop pull codes and there was no code associated with this error.

Jeez, this appears to be a very common issue. But Boiler I doubt it is your AG battery that is the problem. My car is doing the same thing with a lead acid battery that tested fine, and continues after replacing it w/ a new AG Lithium.

I just started a new thread "Like a battery problem but not" with this exact issue. Also started on one of our first chilly days. My garage never gets colder than about 45F. If there are this many of us with this issue, surely someone's shop or dealer can figure it out!
