Found the problem! Something very simple..hot lead to the LED socket had become loose. Probably when I had my dashboard out for new leather. Big thanks to everyone especially Mark at Ferrari Fobs for all the help and ideas Image Unavailable, Please Login
How did you pull that out? Need to figure out why my LED isn't working either and can't get that damn plastic piece out of the dash.
My piece came out very easily. Pry out with a plastic tool. You will need to remove ( pull out) the defroster button before you pull the entire piece out and then push in the defroster button last
You can see in my photo there is a cross bar where the pod of buttons go. The bar is the reason you need to pull out the defroster button with connector as it won't clear the cross bar. Found this out after the fact lol
Good to see you fixed it. People suspect the immobilizer for this and that, but it's ALWAYS something else. If they were a failure component I'd have a stash of them (and I don't). When I get calls for cars not starting 99.99% of the time it's either: 1. Siren battery failed, melted the pcb board and blown anti-theft fuse 2. Fuel pumps clogged
What did you mean by "hot lead", Warren? The power wire from the Immobiliser ECU? The wire colours are not intuitive for power (violet) and earth (orange). Anyway, I'll update my immobiliser diagrams to show the short extension harness for the LED Coupe: https://www.dropbox.com/t/0ZTI5yZazj5w73qu Spider: https://www.dropbox.com/t/47LE0sWQMkb2Yl2O
Yes by hot wire I meant power wire. I assumed the brown wire was the ground wire and purple the power
Thanks, Warren. Because we are assuming, I've marked my diagram TBC (to be confirmed). I didn't realise the wire was brown, rather than orange. I may have to change my diagrams again.
Hi everyone, I have had so many problems with my immobilizer and spent so much time and money with fixes and new fobs and recodings and sending the module overseas because I'm in Europe and every time it gets in I'm hit with reimport taxes of stuff that I already owned, and whatever else, I have therefore officially given up on this whole useless pieces of hardware. I don't want sirens, I don't want ignition cut offs, I don't want automatic door locks, I want nothing. A simple remote that can lock and unlock the doors is all I need. My question, is there a simple DIY way to just remove the whole thing out if the car or this is another take-it-to-the-dealer-and-get-rapped-again for them to yank it out? Thanks a lot
