Is there an aftermarket entertainment system that can be purchased to upgrade a 2012 FF to carplay? I take delivery of my one owner nero daytona/cuoio in a week or two and would love to upgrade her!

I believe there are a few threads discussing this. My memory of them is you are looking at two possibilities: 1- Ferrari maybe offered their own branded replacement headhunt with CP. 2- there are many aftermarket units. It would seem to me the key is to find something that would work with the steering wheel controls.

Thanks, all. I'll start researching. What are the car functions that are currently enabled through the computer? Seems like most goes through to the screen next to the tach, right?

I have the Sony A7000 headunit on mine, it's one of the few units that integrates into the factory speakers and uses the steering wheel buttons and all, perfect integration

looks like with the AX7000 your phone has to connect via cable to use carplay. How did you route your cable?

I routed it initially under the center console into the cupholder, but I then just had it come out the driver side of the center console, I'm going to my storage this weekend, I can take a photo then

I installed a pioneer unit with wireless android auto / apple car play. Game changer, keep phone in pocket or stick in centre console, get yourusic, Google maps / Waze on screen.

Isearch my username, got a thread on here somewhere with a link to a YouTube video that I recorded of me doing the DIY

I have a wireless adapter that works well, but I hate how much battery carplay uses and went back to plugging in. No point in traveling somewhere and 40% of your battery is gone when the plug takes ten seconds

I just finished installing a new android head unit in my FF thanks to @IDKFA for that super helpful video I was able to figure out that the headunit is bascialy just a standerd Chrysler headunit. Yes it's from a JEEP.

That got me thinking why woudnt one of those aliexpress android headunits design for jeep work on the ferrari.

The answer was annoying not plug and play. I had to file down the tops and bottom of the headunit as it was slightly too big. I also had to cut some plastic on the headunit but nothing some side cutters and 80 grit sand paper won't fix. All of it is completely invisible when installed. Also most importantly the steering buttons work perfectly. The headunit came with a canbus decoder for jeep and it works perfectly with ferrari lol.

    The results speak for themselves

I'm still 2 days away from closing everything up but sound works and GPS works great. I mounted it in the a piler and also doing a dash cam hardwire.

Also since I have eveything removed I am replacing the break light switch and removing all the sticky buttons and repainting some trim. It's been alot of work!
    Here some more photos
