Rosso Coburn is a beautiful shade indeed. Thanks for continuing to post some lovely updated pictures of Rosso Coburn on modern Ferrari's.
Any idea what shade is this red ? Magma, F1 2007 ? https://www.autogespot.com/spots?licenseplate=371L
It looks like Rosso Maranello to me. Maybe Rosso Fuoco but it looks darker than that Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I agree - difficult to tell from the photos, but I am currently specifying an 812GTS and chose Rosso Maranello. I would guess the color in the photos is also Rosso Maranello - it is a deep rich red.
Given that I own all 3, lol, it is very hard to tell. I’d say Fuoco with the subtle copper/orange undertones. I only know of one Magma, and it is a US car. It looks a little bright and consistent for Maranello.
I also thought Maranello at first. But at direct sunlight this car gets very bright red with orange tones. Which Maranello does not as far as I know. See this pic: https://www.autogespot.com/ferrari-488-pista-1/2020/08/27 But I agree, difficult to tell in pics, different spotters might be using different filters etc.
Probably adding to the confusion and various opinions . . . From Left to Right - - Rosso Maranello, Rosso Fuoco, Rubino Micalizzato, and Rosso Fiorrano. Image Unavailable, Please Login Rosso Magma - which definitely has orange/copper tones in it. Image Unavailable, Please Login Rosso Maranello - which can look a bit on the dark side. But in the sunlight it really lightens up and the metallic mica really shows. yes stunning - the fuoco is amazing - i just could not take the $35k upcharge - so i did the california
That’s is true ! This is my rosso corsa metallic. IMHO it’s the best and the cheapest bang for buck deep red 2 layer paint . Some indoor and outdoor pics fyi However , if I could afford to and justify , my next preference would be Magma red …eyes closed ! Actualizer, can you comment on how much different the Rosso Corsa metallizzato is from the standard Rosso Corsa. Is there a noticeable metallic flake to the paint, or is it subtle?
It’s SUPER subtle IMO When I was considering on my old 488 I saw two cars side to side at my dealer and could hardly tell the difference up close in good light and I have good eyesight. I think if you want it to pop you need to go triple layer which is what I did
Sorry that was a little confusing/misleading. Well for my 488 spider I finally landed on Fuoco but my dealer talked me out of it thinking it was too orange so I ended up doing triple Layer white (Bianco Fuji) Personally I think Maranello is awesome for GT cars but looks a little too dark for me on the v8 line when it’s cloudy out . Magma was never offered (I think it’s a Mazaratti color) but is probably what I would go with now or the 2007 f1 rosso (which I think is 4 layer)
This is Rossa Corsa Metallic. I can tell a difference side by side with RC but not stand alone. Glad I got it though. But, triple layer would be sweet! Image Unavailable, Please Login Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
I originally hesitated to talk about Rosso TRS in this thread because it's not much darker than Rosso Corsa, and it's not metallic. It's a 4 layer pearlescent mica paint. I think Rosso TRS is to Rosso Corsa, like Giallo Triplo Strato is to Giallo Modena. I may be missing a few, but these are the colors (besides Rosso Corsa) that are most similar to the traditional Ferrari red Rosso Corsa Metallizzato Rosso 70 Anni Rosso Formula1 2007 Rosso TRS * Rosso Vera * NOTE: I've only seen Rosso Vera in pictures of the one-off P80/C. Would love to hear from anyone who has specced this color. I originally specced Rosso Corsa Metallizzato and then later considered Rosso Formula1 2007. I understand why Rosso TRS isn't a popular paint. If you spend north of 30K on a paint job, it should be easily and immediately distinguishable from Rosso Corsa. I'll admit, it may not be from a distance, especially to the average person. To the average person, it's just another red Ferrari in the hue they have become accustomed to. But once you get up close and see it in the sun, it's quite the finish. If you pay a lot of attention to fine details, you'll appreciate it. If I decide to get another red car, I would consider speccing it again. While there are a few Rosso TRS Pistas and SF90s, I don't think there are many Rosso TRS F8s. Here's Rosso TRS (left) compared to Rosso Corsa. Unfortunately, much of the detail in the photo is lost once it has been resized. In the original photo, you can see the "flake" (or whatever you call flake for paint that isn't metallic). Also, the cameras on our phones are doing quite a lot of manipulation. The difference was quite clear when I saw these two cars side by side with my own eyes. Rosso Corsa looked dry and faded in comparison, while Rosso TRS looked more like wet paint (no offense to those with Rosso Corsa cars ... I obviously love Rosso Corsa or wouldn't have picked a color that looks so much like it). I've probably talked about this paint too much now, so that's it for me. I hope this helps someone who wants a red Ferrari, loves how these deeper 3/4 layer reds accentuate the lines of the car, but want a more traditional Ferrari red. I took a big leap of faith when I specced this color because there aren't many good photos of the paint, no comparison photos, and no close-up images. Now there are.
