I went to Disneyland and parked the F8 in the lot. On the way back, I started up the car and got the “break-in attempted” light. The windows were fine and I didn’t see anything amiss. Any of you guys have experience much with this? The lock warning light turned on as well.
This is most likely a glitch in the software I’ve gotten this message and know for a fact that no break in was attempted
I would also have your battery checked….many of these gremlins start to appear when the battery does not take a full charge.
Both my 458 and my wife's Portofino M have done the same thing. Each time I was actually walking away from the car and heard the alarm go off with no one anywhere near the car. My 458 did it three straight times one day to the point that I just physically locked the door (which does not engage the alarm system). My best guess for me is that it was windy conditions (parked near the beach).
I had the same alarm warning with my F8 while parked in the garage - indoors. Happened once. Since then I have had no issues with my battery or any of the other electronics.
I believe that if someone tried to open the door, this is how you would be notified. Happened to me in a Walmart lot. Morale of the story................
When an alarm is triggered, the flashing sequence of the warning light indicates where entry was attempted.. door, bonnet/hood etc. I can’t remember the sequence. I had occasion to look this up last Sunday as the same thing happened to me (488) returned to car and had same warning, although I was sitting 20 feet from the car the whole time and the alarm siren did not go off. Alarm is cleared next ignition cycle so you have to remember to look at the flashing sequence before you turn the car off PS. Disneyland parking lot??? You brave man.
In the 458/488 it is: - LED off twice: lifting sensor alarm - LED off three times: door alarm - LED off four times: luggage compartment lid alarm - LED off five times: ignition key alarm Image Unavailable, Please Login
Can also happen when the battery is on its way out. First time temporarily stranded was at the petrol station. Filled up and returned to the car 488 GTB. Tried to start and no deal. Attempted a few times and the alarm went off. So bloody embarrassing !!! Once it stopped, I pull out the starter and started the car and next came the breaking code but went away. Make sure you are ready just in case you cannot start your car.
Why can't Ferrari solve this issue rather than have owners suffer and then try to figure out their emergency strategy. "When you buy a Ferrari you are buying the engine. The battery is your problem"
I would like to know also but they dont care. This would be the reason why I would never consider a Ferrari Hybrid or any electric car from them. Its not a matter of will it happen but more in line with when it happens. The factory battery is cheap junk and should be replaced by the dealer at hand over. Interesting that Ferrari now has optional warrantee on their 7 year old LaFerrari that covers the battery. Issues ? You bet !
Happened to me twice on my 2022 F8 spider. Both times car was parked at a shopping center and locked. No alarm but when I got in the car it said break in attempted in the display. On the second occasion a gentleman came by and said couple of teenagers were pulling on the door handles to see if the car was unlocked.
I too would be worried with further electrification. I suspect that the LaF may have its fair share of flat batteries. I’ll wager those are expensive to replace
lol I thought about the Disneyland lot. Actually it’s secure entrance with $30 parking fee. I think generally it would keep out some riff raff.
I have had this happen to me twice inside our garage. One of those times, it happened about a minute after I locked the car while i was heading inside. Dont think its battery issue.. yet?
I've always wanted to drive an exotic there with the infinite tunnel/parking structure echo. Must be epic!
Must have been some kids who tried sit on the car for possible pictures or tried to open your door! Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
My F8 car alarm goes off by itself every now and then. I’ve seen it happen when I’m ten feet from my car for no reason whatsoever.
This has happened to me a couple of times as well. Ferrari electronics….. and to think they’ll be making all electric vehicles in a few years. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
About a month ago, my f8 was parked at local park’s parking lot. It went off about 8 times in the span of two hours I was there. Few of the times I was literally 10 ft away, other times I had to walk back to the car to unlock/lock the car. So embarrassing I had car checked out by the dealership and nothing came of it though.
This is because Ferrari hired the same electrical engineers who created the Homelink intuitive programming system.
