because each one may have a different source of information depending on the time, location, people which will result a different answer and an opinion. Why can’t you think about that?
I was talking to one of the guys at Ferrari New York about the Spider. I got the wink/smile acknowledgement about the release date. I'm looking forward to seeing how wildly successful the Spider will be. I have a feeling this will become the IT car for Ferrari.
They’re definitely testing a cabrio. Look for it in the next year. Also, my assumption is that this car will replace Portofino altogether.
The only way I would get one is if they somehow put a V12 in it; otherwise, the coupe is absolute perfection. And I mean that stylistically, mechanically, everything.
Also, soft tops are coming back in style. They were always elegant, no one really asked for retractable hardtops; they just came out of mechanical ingenuity. But nearly every existing hard top is being replaced by softs now.
Yes, soft tops are more elegant, and this is clearly an elegant car. Ferrari also hasn’t produced a soft-top in 25 years.
On this Roma Spider I’m hoping some improvements in termes of design, as if it was a Roma « M ». I won’t see a simple remove of the roof.
California/Portofino was always a strange segment. It attempted to be an entry-level Ferrari, but was also priced about the same as the then 360 Modena. With the Roma in existence, the car is basically kaput. Even Ferrari’s head of marketing had to make a video explaining the difference between the two https://tinyurl.com/ex282h2b It’s clear which car is preferred.
I think the 296 spider is unobtainium so this might be a good alternative. I need more info.... Soft top doesn't bother me if they go that way. I loved my F430 spider and Maserati Cambiocorsa.
Interesting that they’re calling 296 a GTS and not a Spider. But that’s a different discussion. https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/threads/spider-vs-gts.671117/#post-148930937
For several months now I have mentioned that a dozen times already, seems fchatters are not reading posts...... Morocco March 2023. Marcel Massini
I was thinking that the information leaks have been rather quite given the unveiling date so soon. But perhaps thats because there is not that much that will be "new" news: Just a Roma with a soft top? I have tiny hopes that at least its some kind of an M version - with a V12 as a pipedream. (and with replacement of haptic controls by buttons even less likely than a V12)
