That's the plan and then I might make a mold from the printed parts , produce a glass fiber product that I can fix to the steering wheel portion I already have and then make another mold of the whole thing . That way I can test the sample before I make a mold good enough for a few production units . Bit long winded , but worth it in the end .

Absolutely fantastic! 3D scanning is brilliant - wish if the skills/know-how to do something like this will you have to reinforce each join from the back side of the printed dash before you can mould it?
Quick progress update , not all glued together and busy printing the last slither I think I need . Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I'm not sure , at this stage I am going to make a mold of the piece I have 3D printed , make a fiber glass product out of that and then join that to the steering wheel bit I already have . Once it is confirmed that the plug is the correct size and fit . I will make a production mold that we can make a few items from .
ABS plug has been sanded and a coat of spray filler applied. Next is to sand and then take a mold off it . Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

That's the original Modena/spider lower dash steering wheel side , I have just cut the heater/radio section off .
Any updates? are you planning to bond the new left and centre ‘CS’ section to your OEM right side then make a one part mould of the entire lower dash or are you going to keep the lower dash in two separate pieces?
