I've owned some of the fastest cars in the world,, never impressed anybody. so i decided to retire from that game and get something i can love and cherish (unlike my ex-wife} when i heard of the new Vette going 0-60 under 3 secs, i knew it was time to retire from that game, stop trying to keep up with the Joneses , so i got this Aston, only cost a $120,000, which leaves me a few hundred for repairs..:)

With the quickest cars going electric and/or turbo, my most interesting cars are not the fastest but the most fun and engaging. Enjoy the new ride!

Very nice. These have been on my “outside chance” radar. Let us know what you think. Gonna sign up for a AMW 6 speed conversion?

Great car/colors, and definitely my philosophy as well. Vanquish is more than fast enough, and my best times driving have been in cars 1993 and older.

not sure if they still do that conversion, it was $50,000 i heard before, something to consider, i lean towards just keeping it stock will all its problems, with tranny

I’ve heard they do, but haven’t verified. $50k is on the high side for the work; I think it’s typically more like 35-40k from AMW, or I believe there’s a couple shops in the US that can do it for a bit less.

Aston kills it with bespoke leather interiors when original owners order well. And I love this gen Vanquish...and should really buy one myself. Last of the truly handmade Astons. So nice to not see "basic black" here! Congrats!

Check in with Autosport Design in NY for the possibility of a North American based conversion. The tranny is what has kept me from a purchase of one of these. They nailed the 5.9/6L V12 development early on in this Vantage series; however...better and earlier than the DB7V/DB9/DBS variants...

    (full disclosure - have a DB9 manual and a DB7 Vantage auto...along with a 550. I'm a V12 aficionado first...shifty 2nd!)

    Congratulations!!

I still have an irrational interest in an AM Works converted Vanquish. Still one of the most beautiful cars ever IMO. If I had oil money I’d get one with the Callum upgrades. https://www.callumdesigns.com/callumvanquish

Congrats!! I love mine, though I've been away from it since May 2022 as it's at Works getting the manual conversion (which was completed in August now just waiting for the "S" upgrades and "SDP" wheels). I don't know how much it will cost but to anyone thinking about it unless you're irrationally attached to your current Vanquish as I am to mine, just buy an existing converted car when they pop up.

The non S motor is really not far off S. In reality it's a 25-30hp delta not 60hp like the spec sheet would have you believe. Biggest difference is shorter gearing in the S.

These cars are effortlessly cool. Sound incredible and get lots of positive reactions from people you wouldn't expect. They're still fast you just need to take the long gearing into consideration when you say hey why isn't this pulling hard in 4th gear at 3k RPM... well it does nearly 100mph in 2nd!

Such a timeless design! I had these on my list last Spring when shopping for an Aston. My wife and I went to look at a few and when she saw the Gen I's, she said "it kinda looks like your old Probe". Referencing my '89 Ford Probe that I had during college. The Aston was the same grey as my Probe which didn't quite help that conversation, either. We got a '14 Vanquish instead, but I still really like the Gen I design!

    Nice.

The best factory exhaust I’ve ever had. Back in ‘05 I had them bypass the “bypass” as they prepped my S for delivery. Was my DD for years. Phenomenal car.

One of (if not) the sexiest cars ever made.

    Cool dude. Cool…
