Gina NEVER bought the Kidman properties for ANY Chinah group, she was in partnership with 'em.

They were onsold late last year to various local groups so her beef group could concentrate on a different beef on the east side of Australia.

 

It’s certainly private sellers of private property that are happy when 50 Chinese people roll up to their auction…

No one should be allowed to buy private property if they’re not Aus citizens in my view, but that would upset those multiple property owners whom have enjoyed this little rort for years.

 

100% spot on Steve - its not like there is a reciprocal arrangement for Australians buying property in China or other parts of Asia.

I just hate double standards and hypocrisy.

I remember once telling a Chinese friend who was calling Pauline Hansen and One nation racist/nationalistic (which she/they may be???) to go to her website and read her policy manifesto by the word and show me where the CCP was different, she couldn't.

I think before one complains about the world, you need to get your own backyard sorted first. It ain't rocket science.

NON-residents are actually NOT allowed to buy Australian property without Australian gov’t approval but sellers and real estate agents manage to organise this for them... One part where the government IS to blame is in giving business visas to foreign nationals without confirming the legitimacy of the money source.

 

I've watched in horror at what the non-Australian citizen Chunah people have done in my area pulling down period homes and building rubbish, fully agree.

 

Yes, so often the agents are Chinese.

Also, THEY can buy for investment.

YOU also FORGET that many of them buy via 3rd parties who already have Australian citizenship.

I'm always amazed at how the Chinese will live in S.Holes but need to drive the latest and most modern European car they can afford to purchase ...........NOT all that smart after all.

 

I had a call from an RE agent at the start of December last year, he was out the front of my property on the GC and wanted me to come out for a "chat".

I told him I don't live there and that dump has been a rental since I purchased it back in 2011.

This agent had a prospective Chinese buyer in the car with him, so he put me on speaker so he could listen in. The prospective buyer named Vincent was interested in buying my property.

The agent then proceeded to tell me that he sold Vincent two properties in the street earlier in 2022 (I checked it out and those were sold by this guy in early 2022) and he was in Australia to purchase 2x more properties before Christmas.

I then jokingly asked if Vincent was going to buy the entire street lol. He either didn't understand me or he didn't find it funny lol.

The agent then told me that Vincent wants to purchase 2x more properties now and he will come back in two years time after he winds down his "successful business" in China to knock these 4x properties down and build all new homes for him and his family.

I then assumed that Vincent and his Wife were going to live in one and the other 3x homes would be one each for their children and their families................I was right. I also assumed that Vincent was a very wealthy man and I was right again hehe.

We talked for around 30 mins before I eventually politely refused Vincenzo's offer to purchase my property because I had to go and pick the kids up from school.

I will have to take a look to see what has sold in that street in the last month or so and that may give me an indication that old Vincent may have purchased those 2x properties that he was looking for.

I've had around 30+ offers to purchase that dump over the last 5 years or so and 5 of them have been Chinese buyers apparently. They may have all been Chinese buyers for all I know. They are definitely buying up property here in Australia and I am quite confident that the Australian government is happy to let them spend their money here in Australia.

 

The non-residents get around the no purchase act very EASY in so many ways.

Like: The property is purchased in a company name on behalf of a trust .......GUESS Whom is the beneficiary of the trust?

It's all about getting the money out of Chinah and putting it in a safe haven, most have NO interest in rental return yield %.

As for the limit on how much they can take out of Chinah in dollars %s , total B>S so many of 'them are connected within the CCP , that the dollar % allowed to take out is non-existent.

 

Yep. I've had numerous agents offer to sell my business premises for me. One was quite persistent with a Chinese buyer, so I threw a high number at him, and he seemed quite confident he could get it. He came back, very excited, with an offer - $1.25M less than I told him. I expressed my feelings, rather succinctly, to the agent (two words, involving sex and travel). "Oh, you don't understand the Chinese! Now we start negotiating!" "No," I said, "You don't understand me. I don't want to understand the Chinese. The deal is off. Go away."

 

Same with my commercial property I have no interest in selling to CCP members

The agent (Josh) and Vincent wanted to send me a contract that day if I was happy to sell for what the last agent offered me in November.

As mentioned, I politely declined and that was it.

Sounds like they negotiate residential and commercial properties differently lol

Did you ask to see is Residency visa? Like I say, it is not just the government to blame, many people would have just asked “how much can I get”....
I doubt Vincent will give up; he knows he just has to be patient and most will be a pushover. Be careful you don’t end up “last man standing” surrounded by Macmansions... some people think they can hold the developer to ransom as the last chunk; what often happens (MANY examples in Coolum) is they just ended up surrounded.
