F-1 started to be for Profit in 1979. in my opinion, 1978 was the last year of the Club F-1. it was then Bernie bought the TV rights from the FISA/ FIA and offered a share of them to each team for $100K each. They all laughed at him. Bernie has been able to make Billions since then. they did form FOCA - which guaranteed a set payout to each team and led to the Concord Agreement... and $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

It takes only 70% of the time to pass a 100" car as it does a 140" car........at the same differential speed.

Well, to an extent. But under less restrictive rules a good enough driver could overcome a problematic car more easily than is the case now. The only tire restriction that I approve of is the single manufacturer rule. Then you know it’s down to the car (mostly) and the driver (to a lesser extent).
