Hi there, I successfully installed the product on my US vehicle and they work correctly. I will drop by the garage and take a quick photo of the connectors and fire them over tomorrow unless someone beats me to it.

That would be excellent. Are the Morimoto adaptor harnesses marked "inside" and "outside" to prevent mixup?

If you can't get a clear shot of the numbers on the plugs, the plug clips should give me the correct orientation.

The wiring on each side of the car is basically mirrored, so just one side will do.

Photo one shows wiring to lights, photo two is connection to harness.

    Excellent! Thanks

I'm pretty sure that this is the wiring (even though I can't see the black stripe on one of the red wires).

This means that both the official wiring diagrams and the Morimoto website diagrams are wrong. Thankfully, these Morimoto lights work, even though the diagrams are wrong.

Here's a revised OEM wiring diagram for standard USA Motronic 2.7 cars

Now to figure out the rewiring for Morimoto Euro cars....

@Iflickr Mohammad, you will need to find some tools to remove the pins from the wiring without damaging them. For me, it would be easier to modify the original car's wiring, but you may not want to do that. Here's my solution:

    Image Unavailable, Please Login

    Outside plug:

Step 1) Remove red wire from position 1 with pin removal tool. You will probably need to cut the wire a few centimetres from the pin and splice in a jumper wire to make it long enough to reach the inside plug (do not remove the pin from the wire). You may want to put use some bullet connectors to allow the wiring to be reversed.

Cutting the red wire is the only permanent "damage" to the original wiring.

Step 2) Remove blue wire from position 2 with pin removal tool and insert into position 1. Do not remove the pin from the wire. The blue wire may have a black stripe, depending on which side of the car it is.

    Inside plug:
Step 3) Remove orange wire from position 1 (wrap pin in electrical tape and stow)

Step 4) Put the red wire (from step 1) into position 1 of the outside plug.

Repeat the process for the other side of the car.

    CAVEATS:
    1) Because the turn/hazard and brake lights are wired together on the USA cars, I don't know if the USA Hazard/Turn Module has some protection against brake light power going into the Hazard/Turn Module and affecting the circuits. The USA Hazard/Turn module may have diodes in the circuits for protection.
    2) The lamp resistance of the brake light circuit on the Euro and USA cars are definitely different, so the flash rate will be affected. As mentioned before, you may have to fit a USA module to your car ... if you can find one for sale.

Generally, the components are expensive. You may want to think about this carefully before proceeding.

Sorry, disregard this. This is incorrect. I should have said the turn/hazard and park lights are wired together on USA cars i.e. they use the same lamps.

This may not be as important as I first thought.

If you don't want to cut into the OEM wiring, this solution might work:

Left hand side lamp wiring change shown below:

    Image Unavailable, Please Login

    OUTSIDE LIGHT
Step 1) Remove the pin from position 1 on the Morimoto adaptor plug (with the blank position "2") and insert into blank position "2". Remove blanking plug as required.

    OUTSIDE LIGHT
Step 2) Remove the pin from position 1 on the Morimoto adaptor plug (with the blank position 3) and insert into position 1 on outside light Morimoto plug. I don't know if the wires are long enough to allow this.

It doesn't look like any wire cutting is involved. I don't know why I didn't think of this before. I'm assuming, however, the removal tools will be able to remove the pins (or sockets) without damaging anything.

Note that the fog light won't work with either modification. I suppose you could splice the fog light wiring into the tail light wiring, but the lights would be pretty bright (for the cars following you).

Considerations: If the flash rate for the turn/hazard lights is wrong and it can't be fixed by changing the Hazard/Turn Module, then Morimoto might not allow you to return your purchase (as it has been tampered with).

The function of the resistors is only for signals but both lights on each side are signals now as well

I am unsure if they are wrong because they work on my car
As long as you line up the inside and outside with the caonnectors which have a blank correctly
I have a USA spec car though and I see you were talking about euro spec oops

They won’t be able too because they will be too bright unless you resisted them
They do make a euro adapter for their 430 kit
    It may work

It's been a while since the last post. I can't remember why I said the Morimoto diagrams were wrong. Perhaps it was because they disagreed with the actual wiring on the car. That is not to say that the lights aren't compatible (just the diagram is wrong).

I did see that... although there seemed to be some compatibilty issues with some versions of Scud-Ing Swiss high stop lights.

I think you said that because the Morimoto diagram only refers to USA spec not euro but unsure

    Rechecking...

The brake lights (bright red) and reverse (white) are supposed to be on the inboard (inside) light clusters on the standard USA car, according to the wiring diagrams.

    Here was my earlier comparison:

The Morimoto diagram shows bright red and white on the outside light.

As you say, just match up the gaps in the wiring.

It seems it would be impossible to change to. Euro but we could easily change from Morimotos duel signals and dual brake and tail to a USA spec
I think with the advantage of 4 reverse lights

All? All USA cars? According to the US wiring diagrams, what I've been told and the videos I've seen.

I don't understand what you're trying to say, Grant. Change some from what to what? Morimoto is a US company and first designed its tail lights for US cars. The high stop light only caused an issue because it was aftermarket. Morimoto blamed the aftermarket manufacturer. The aftermarket manufacturer blamed Morimoto :p

The bottom half of the diagram in post #41 is OEM.

I was trying to confirm that the diagram is correct for all lights
    Euro, Australia, and usa
My car was consistent to the USA diagram
What I am saying is I think we could change Morimotos design back to the USA spec ferrari as In the diagram more or less.
Differences would be that the amber lights are in a circle not half
And tail would be light red outside, turn and hazard would be amber and a full circle out side, with brake being on the inside and bright red. So I guess not really the same more of a hybrid.

Euro/Australian lights are completely different from USA lights. You wouldn't need a Euro Morimoto adaptor if they were the same. The differences are shown in my graphic in post #42.

Yes I realized that after because the Morimoto light are amber in a full circle and red in a full circle, and no center amber
That was why I changed to a hybrid of the two as I described above.
I will have too think it through
