    Well... in this thread, the 512 M at Le Mans museum is given as a replica...
    In the « Pics of vintages I find/see on the net. » thread, the same 512 M at Rétromobile is given as the real 1044.:confused:

    A friend saw a red 512S in 1994(?) at Laguna Seca where clearly the major roll bar / roll hoop could be seen .....a very thin one that was not allowed by the motorsport authorities in 1970s when they inspected the 25 512S cars. That car at the factory in 1970 was 1046, the only one not updated with the bigger (larger diameter) roll hoop.
    Was this red car in Monterey 1004 or 1016? (0r 1004 but still with a 1016 tag)
    Probably others here have photo's and could post. This should be the same chassis that was owned by Scholtyssek (and he attended with the car at the Oldtimer GP Nürburgring. Probably someone has photos of those events too.

    Maybe someone can dig into their photo archives?

    Sorry for the long delay in replying but I just caught up with this thread again. The cars that were built at Hajduk’s Motorkraft shop were actually owned by the late Peter Dyson (Rob’s brother). He acquired the Mueller package when the original purchaser decided that the scope of the project was more than he wanted to deal with. The components that came with the package were enough to build two cars and included the original serial number tags of two of the Filipinetti/Mueller cars. The second car had machined billet front uprights as there was only one pair of them in the parts package but there were two of everything else—engine, gearbox, etc. Hajduk had Walter Medlin’s 512M (#1014) on hand and it was used to fixture the jig for the new chassis construction. One car was built in M configuration using the tag from the car that Rodriquez lost his life in at the Norisring. When I cleaned up the fuel filler caps during the construction they were still blackened from the fire. The second car was going to be a Spyder “S” but ended up as a Coda Lunga using one of the two long tails that we had. Motorkraft then did the skin restoration of the 512F that was owned by the Donner family at the time and later built a clone 512M for Benton Bryan using a Daytona engine and Hewland transaxle. The Medlin car was then acquired by Michael Sheehan and Motorkraft did the body restoration putting it back to berlinetta configuration from the Young Spyder conversion.

    Here's what really happened: The two serial number tags for 1008 and 1046 were sold by Herbert Müller's son Daniel Müller on 26 March 1987 to Terry D. Bixler in USA. Bixler paid Daniel Müller Swiss Francs CHF 150'000 for the two small items. I have the receipt signed by both parties.

    terry,was the purchase agent,for mr. Marnell, serial tags attached to tubes as well as all related parts,jigs,bluprints ect.
    all parts,arrived at motorkraft (bensenville,il) direct from mullers then sold from marnell to dyson. 5/88 i have all the paperwork. Larry Hajduk motorkraft
