The aero on this car—especially at the rear of the front fenders and the sidepods—is very similar to the IMSA GTP car by Dallara, namely the BMWs and the Cadillacs. I wonder if there was any input from Dallara?
I am really intrigued by that car, who's behind it, etc ... They haven't chosen the cheaper option like Glickenhaus or Vanwall, but decided to go for hybrid like the LMH tenors.
Does anyone not realize the Glickenhaus is on its 3rd season? Seems that rob is holding the grudge... ...and the car is blue. Image Unavailable, Please Login sjd
Are those cutouts over the wheels for testing only? I can't believe that they would be allowed to race that way.
why do you think I'm talking about the badge and why can't you separate Jim trolling in that one post vs. overall? y'all are "special".
They are only there because of the Governing bodies rules making it so. My understanding its due to the flip Porsche and Mercedes did all those years ago.
...because we think you're stretching. Plenty of carmakers have used a shield for their badge... Image Unavailable, Please Login adding: which is just a combination of Image Unavailable, Please Login and Image Unavailable, Please Login with a different animal... Maybe it's honoring the timelessness of knowing when a scuderia badge showed up, it represented the racing shop and what it had to offer....afterall pre-war grand prix cars were mostly manufacturers. The Scuderia badge first showed up on Alfa Romeos in place of the clover....
Correct. Those cut outs are mandated so that the air doesn't get trapped in the wheel wells. Helps to prevent them from going over. If you look all the GTP cars have those same cut outs. Even the GT3 cars all have vents in that same location.
Right...sorry...i was replying to you...ingenere made it about the badge... what are you on about? the castle? the shape (they're all shaped like that)? red with gold? sjd
Yeah...those side shots...it's 2023...nothing is original anymore Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
The holes let the high pressure that builds up in the wheel well breath out. That's how it will be raced. It's not a bad design, wonder if we could see it on a road car one day.
I'm pretty neutral on Jim, don't love him, don't hate him. IMO, his badge design was a copy of the Ferrari shield and it was really unoriginal. Yeah, something a jilted lover would do. It's not just the badge shape but all the details used as well. If Jim doesn't run the cars with that badge anymore, good on him.
