A few years ago I bought a Bose Wave Radio, and it's awesome.

And downstairs sits my component stereo from the 70's.

So I bought a FOSI 3 turntable preamp, connected it to the Bose,
brought up my turntable, and am thoroughly disappointed.
I thought it would sound better than it does, but on a scale of 1-10,
    it's maybe a 4.
Yes, I know you get what you pay for in a TT preamp, this one was $70,
some are $20, and some can be whatever you want to spend, but I didn't think
the difference between a $70 one and a $300 one would be huge - IF it is huge,
I don't know, I don't have an expensive one to compare the FOSI to.

Has anyone here played with this kind of a setup?

I have a similar preamp powering my 1998 Aiwa stereo speakers and it is so loud and clear. Any pics of how the setup?

I would not know anything about levels.

I'm guessing it has more to do with the cartridge/stylus.

The Turntable was my friends, a $1,000 turtable with a $60 cartridge.... go figure.
