OMG, these would be amazing, however.....I'd spend $4,500 and the juice would be gone by June. LOL!!!! Good luck!
I had no idea that these beverages had such value until I had a friend make a play, offer to buy, for these bottles that were gifts from clients in years past. Image Unavailable, Please Login
No don't have any plans to drink them. But they are great conversation pieces. Sent from my SM-F900U using FerrariChat.com mobile app
I actually bought a Glenlivet 25 for someone who was trying to refer us some work. We ended up getting the job. $8m in work $2m in the books. Best ROI purchase I ever made. Too bad I don't own the company. Still a nice bonus.
The bunker is deep... But you have to be judicious with the stuff they don't make anymore! Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Image Unavailable, Please Login That is an "Old Rip Van Winkle" 23 year old decanter set. "Pappy's" big brother They released 1200 of them and then did a follow up several years later with a 25 year release (different presentation). The second release was proofed down from 114 to 100. The 25 tends to fetch higher prices but anyone that has actually sampled it knows the ORVW23 is significantly better to drink.
O M G…..WOW! I’ve read about the 23 but I don’t think I’ve seen the presentation. Congrats on owning this. This is like owning a Ferrari in the Bourbon world. Will you ever drink it?
Probably closer to a 288 GTO . There are more valuable bottles, but not many. And at least half of these went to bars that opened them immediately. Unfortunately, once you drink one it is gone forever. At least you can drive (and rebuild) a Ferrari. Yes, I have one open on the bar and two in the bunker. At this point they are too valuable (for me) to drink, even for "special" occasions. I'm sure there are people that would drink this in one sitting on an average Saturday night. I'm just not one. Given that top shelf Scotch bottles bring seven figures, I think these have a huge upside.
I think that you are correct. And I just looked up the market on this.....WOWZA!!!!!! I wouldn't drink it either.....
Years back I was at an auction bidding on the 25 year (box made from the barrel, etc). Got outbid by the owner of the liquor store holding the auction. In retrospect I should have bid more...
That's like saying a car has too much horsepower. I realized early on that I strongly preferred "wheaters" so I focus my collection there unless something really special comes along. But even inside the Weller line there are some significant variations.
Having a bottle of ANY Whiskey or Wine without drinking it is like owning some superb Ferrari of any kind without driving it or dating a centerfold/super model girlfriend, but not ....
