    Hello guys.

I am going to Florida at the end of January for a stay of almost 3 weeks to launch one of our satellites on a Space X rocket.

I have already planned some activities outside of work but am looking for advice on things to do related to cars in the Orlando/Cocoa Beach area :)
Daytona seems not too far, is it worth to go there ? Can the Speedway be visited ? Is there a museum ? Are track baptisms organized ?

Thanks for your info and ideas.

Daytona 24 hour race is this weekend.

Daytona 500 stock car race is Feb 19. Will be a good introduction to American culture!

About 10 years ago. Driving, you get up to about 140mph average for a lap.

Besides the Speedway museum, tour and driving experience, a couple of miles from the launch site is the Warbird Museum and almost next door is a Mclaren dealership with a tank museum that you would have to finagle a walk through with a sales staff member. The Mclaren showroom has every version for sale except for an F1 and a P1.

On February 4th in Melbourne is a car meet at the American Muscle Car Museum which is not usually open to the public. It is an overwhelming private collection of over 400 cars. I am going with my 720S.

Orlando has Deezerland, a one owner collection with an eclectic display of automotive history.

Enjoy your stay and good luck with the launch. I can see them from our beach.
