There are 4 objective performance categories in cars that nobody can seriously debate.

    1) Acceleration
    2) Handling
    3) Cost
    4) Reliability

    Everything else is preference.

You need to talk to a car engineer and ask what do EVs portend to these 4 elements.

Then put your thinking cap on. All I ask is you do a little homework and see if the car engineers are lying and are part of some political conspiracy.

You think we buy a Ferrari for that, seriously....
We buy a Ferrari for the emotion distilled by its unique and mythical mechanics and which comes to life through the sound it generates.
You did not understand the link between the passion for the brand and the cars produced

So you buy a Ferrari for poor performance, and want it to have abysmal reliability? That's strange to say the least.

    Performances ???
But who cares, it's unusable today on the open road, not to mention that almost no one has the ability to do it.
And if you want to do regular trackdays with road cars, you buy a Gt3 RS, or a 765 LT, and certainly not a 296 !

I think his point was cost and reliability are not primary considerations. Even I'll say their base prices are getting preposterous. Way outpacing inflation, as nuts as that is too.

That said, it is nice, but very few people are actually aware of their maintenance and warranty offerings. Even my friends with money who are in the target demographic are surprised when I explain the service plan and warranty.

I thought that the 296 launch videos with the "fun to drive" principles explained was surprisingly honest and true. Sound was a priority they said, despite the setback of having only a V6.

    You are a confused soul.
Appreciate your kindness to our resident pontificator. @day355 claim is a simple one. That Ferrari has lost the 'magic' that in his own words can is supposedly objectively defined.

If not, cost, performance, nor reliability - what is it?

Objective smell? Would a return to Connolly over Poltrona Frau rectify this? One is free to straight pipe their Ferrari if 'coal rolling' is your thang.
Objective looks? Should Ferrari simply reissue previous body designs? (modern crash/safety regulations be damned.)
Objective feel? I ask what vibration level is the ideal?
Objective taste? I never licked my Ferrari, just sayin'

Ah, objective sound. I've asked @day355 to post a AUDIO CLIP (that is made up of digital 1s and 0s) that reflect his favorite exhaust tune of all time so I may judge for myself the superiority of say that sound of say to that of an 'artificial' Porsche Taycan.

I've listened to many of these clips that laud the 'spine tingling' effect on myriad of youtube videos. I agree with the comments, many of them do stir the senses.

The fact I that I experienced while listening to said sound on a computer speaker or headphones however never lost on me. I chuckle when folks post an audio clip on youtube to demonstrate the irreplaceability of a certain 'sound' as a counter the inferiority of another's 'artificial' sound.

Cognitive dissonance is a cute phenomenon indeed.

I get it though, some folks are picky, and will only enjoy their favorite band LIVE (acoustic, no amplification, nor speakers allowed of course.) Synthesizers or microphones? HELL NO.

My ears only accept pure, anything less, obviously not acceptable.
