Thank you so much!! yes yes with the "long tail effect" the car is more in balance.. anyway there is that huge spoiler that visually high the tail... and i've the feeling the tail will have some "holes" - something already seen on the Competizione
Yup, the only reason they didn't continue using them was LDM didn't like wings. To me any extreme road legal racer car should serious consider them aka form equal function. Just look at the recent 488GT3 and the 296 GT3 look and performance is epic so a road legal extreme version of it should be a standard expectation
Any one of us could buy a GT3 with a big ass boy racer wing. Most of us don't. F40/F50 were a different story because the wing was part of the car. I don't want some posts drilled into my Ferrari. Let's be honest, none of these are track cars. Ferrari does make a track car though. And that car has a big ass wing.
Car makers have been putting wings on car since well before Boy Racers. Most Boy Racers go for look instead of any real aero affect given by the wing. As for size its a test mute. In the event the final version does have a wing, its not likely its to be the final version of the wing at this time. As I said the F40/50 were designed with a wing LDM stopped that because he didn't like wings. Which means a wing in fact maybe still the best option and given the jump in power and better road control needed its not hard to believe they are in some form returning to this solution. If you want an extreme road legal racer car a wing is a great option to have in the design language. If you want a Prettier (Non wing) car with High specs there is already one. Time will tell
In my humble opinion, it is necessary to distinguish the road from the track: racing Ferraris, in this case the P and sport prototypes, have experimented with the most extreme solutions of wings, appendages, spoilers, splitters and so on. If you remember the Can-Ams had crazy wings. But the Ferraris that Enzo made for the street, the glorious Gran Turismo and the famous "Dolce Vita" were as smooth and clean as river stones. Both the F40 and the F50 were the result of a strong technological transfer and the wing was masterfully integrated into the design as an iconic element. They've been literally putting wings on hoods lately. What an ugly drift. Little style, little elegance and vulgar results and dubious taste. It is possible to obtain results such as the splendid 360 Challenge Stradale or the 430 Scuderia, without distorting a car. Without making it a dragster. But as long as there are people willing to spend because they are influenced by the market and trends, Ferrari will do well to ride this wave. It's a shame because a bit of elegance and style is lost, a distinctive trait of a brand like Ferrari. In any case, I'm sure this VS will have its own strong identity and will still be able to stand out. You can already see it from the photos of the last few days
The work is well done, but if you like this rendering, you will love the factory one. As I said some time ago, the idea was to make it an FXX - K 90... and even if the gap between the starting and finishing project is important, the idea remained
Excellent, just as a few have already confirmed it’s the closest XX car road legal.. can’t wait.. name has 2 letters or 3 letters, need to order up a new number plate?
I’ll rephrase…the most track focused. If they took what was to be an XX model and shifted the focus toward the street, it will be interesting to see how light it actually gets.
Agreed; as they were integral parts of the bodywork, the side profiles weren't ruined at all..but this is something, well...let's say 'different' and I'm not sure I like it (obviously, just my personal taste).
Originally, the project was an FXX-SF90. Following the performance test, the car was slower than the current FXX-Ks. It therefore became the VS, but much watered down compared to the initial project, including the bodywork. It's still a road car, not a K put on the road, and to answer your question, nothing will ever be more hardcore than a well-tuned and regularly driven F 40 !!!
True about the F40.. just glad Ferrari is building it and not listening to the snowflakes who can’t take the Assetto Fiorano suspension and no bumpy road mode, which is no worse than a Pista btw... thank you Ferrari
I love your work, but that render looks like a Ferrari that looks like a Corvette that's trying to look like a Ferrari.
This will be the result! Take a look at latest spy pics.. I’m still having a tiny hope that the huge spoiler is into “racing package” but my feeling that is the final result. An huge wing
I hope it is integrated a little more, but we will see! It’s pretty cool, and I’m sure will be impressive. Then the decision to keep the AF spider or this?
I have the feeling that this will be the final evolution of the SF90. Maybe the same platform/base will be used for the next SP4.. so I have no idea about the AF package. Maybe they put available a racing pack with specific optionals..
