Cast Iron night - cheeseburgers with grilled onions and some Air Fryer cooked frozen fries. Was pretty good. (we got an Air Fryer as a Christmas gift and are still figuring out what all to use it for) As you can see, I get my burgers about as round as my pizzas Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login

Only 11 stores here. I guess I'm lucky as mine is just a small 15 minute walk. Yep we have the big American trucks but way dearer than what you get them for. Even though they have great meat in Costco most is grain feed. I prefer grass fed and actually they are dearer than my butcher.

I made a dish years ago that required full sheets of phyllo. It was amazing but way way too much work to ever make again.
We discovered a small butcher in a little town. They specialize in grass fed beef. Prices are competitive with Costco, quality a little better in my estimation, and it's a fun drive in the country to get there. T
OK. That may be even stranger than having none! In tangential food related news. My wife sent me an article extolling the virtues of Kewpie. Japanese mayonnaise. So, I got her a bottle for Xmas, because after 25 years, you start to run out of ideas! [emoji2] Since I'm averse to all known condiments other than hot sauce, the official report from the Mrs. TomC is that Kewpie is both the bee's knees and the cat's meow. Yup, Kewpie is always on my son's christmas list as well, He usually getys about 6 bottles. Good stuff
That looks great. I totally whiffed on standing rib roast this past holiday season. Must endeavor to do better this year...T
Neither had I until the wife sent me an article. I read there are two variants, one made in the US (the one we got) and a "made in Japan" version. I'm not sure the diffs...T
Trying to replicate @arizonaitalian and his Polish Cabbage soup. OMG. Yummy! I might need to thin out the chicken broth. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
College buddy makes a batch annually and gives me a couple of jars. It’s good stuff. I normally make a six sausage sauerkraut pot with a 1# hunk of pork in the middle. Simmer all day. Very hearty with potatoes and carrots. Party feast with friends.
Ok, that was pretty damn good. I like the sour; cuts the pork fat well. Grabbing another bowl. Thanks for suggestion and recipe!

Definitely weird… I get that note sometimes. Some of those steak pics I uploaded today were iPhone raw files and about 30mb each. No problem.
