    Thanks!

It's just the way iron core transformers are drawn in standard wiring diagrams. There are a number of symbol variations, but I've long since forgotten my basic electronic training.

on the spec sheet, it says input 0.25v, so surely its a stepup transformer?

almost missed this datasheet that came with the package.
so, the bird white crap is PID #1 as stated in this sheet in Chinese.
    And what is this 13.36, 13.43 , 12.29 13.41 mean?????

These are inductance values rather than ohms. mH = millihenry There are various definitions for inductance. It can be described as a resistance to a varying current rather than a DC current. The frequency of the AC current is specified as 1kiloHertz in your document.

Unfortunately, I can’t make any sense of those values you provided. I don’t know if the coil setup is as we have shown it. I was expecting 4~6 to be close to the sum of 4~5 and 5~6 if pin 5 was a tapping on the coil.

I dont think it is very difficult to decipher.
4-6 is one single coil that is maybe 60x more than coil 1-3 in length. ( or 10x more and 6x less in cross section area)
pin 5 is just a touch that is very close to the end of the long 4-6 coil.

My mistake... I was misreading the values.

So the good one should look something like this

if you think 657 ohm side as primary, that means this is a step down transformer?

If I said one way or another, it would only be an un-educated guess or lots of "assuming" ;) I don't know what the function of the transformer is or which is the input. I'll remove the primary/secondary labelling to be safe.

it is , i heard, to power up an EL panel, which illuminate the instrument cluster.
never thought EL panel uses ac instead of dc.

Sounds familiar. Doesn't the EL panel use relatively high voltages?

(EDIT: Found this... but to be confirmed)

Yes it does. It needs high voltage AC supply
I have measured up to 250Vpp (depending on illumination level) and a frequency in the 400-500Hz range.

so the 647 ohm side is the secondary coil , correct?

Is it clear from the circuit board mounting, which terminals of the transformer are used? It may only need one pair on either side.
