If you get battery and ignition volts on the front relay, pull the aft relay and see if you have 12 volts on relay sockets 85 or 86 (with the ignition on).

Hopefully all these power ups is not flattening your battery.

If you have volts on that aft relay socket, try swapping over the relays (assuming they are the same type) and see if there is any change in HVAC control behaviour.

Ok so with ignition off, socket 30: 0v and socket 87: 12.78v

with ignition on, socket 85: 12.2v and socket 86: 0v

edit - this was front relay, pulling the rear one now

Ok rear relay, no power at all in any of the 4 sockets with ignition off but with ignition on I get 12.2v on socket 85 with ignition on and 0.3v or so on socket 30

I swapped the two relays and it still does not seem to be working.

I think the battery should be fine, this one is pretty new and the car was on tender a few days ago. I'll hook it back up to the tender tonight just in case.

Thanks. I'll add these details to my diagram.

Interesting. I'm not sure what to make of the 0.3 volts on pin 30. Perhaps voltage is coming through the fan speed controller ([10008] in the diagram)???

Anyway, you seem to be getting voltages in all the right spots. I'm worried there might be an HVAC ECU issue. Since the 30 amp fuse isn't blowing, it's unlikely the blower motor is killing the entire HVAC system. Did you find the HVAC ECU during your investigation?

Going back to your original post (ooops). Now that I remember, the HVAC ECU is located next to that plate you removed. I guess it is possible your first thought might be accurate.

I'm looking at this diagram and I don't see a separate ECU shown. Is the panel (labeled 10) actually the ECU as this diagram seems to suggest? Should I try to pull the panel and mess with it?

BTW this requirement works "really well" in 107ºF heat in Texas summertime.

The control panel can be difficult to diagnose. Some parts of it seem to be passive resistance networks feeding into the HVAC ECU, other parts seem to be more complicated.

This thread discusses resistance values measured across certain control panel connector pins (read the whole page for amendments/additions)

    https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/posts/148650231/

From (vague) memory, the blower motor runs automatically even if the control panel is removed.

I opened up the control panel... Nothing obviously wrong that I can see.

It's a single connector to it BTW Ian so the panel is indeed getting power since the two buttons light up.

As I explained earlier, the two buttons (lighting) use a different fuse. Refer to the diagram:

Pin 2 is for button lighting (yellow/red wire). Power from fuse 12
Pin 3 is for panel power (green/white wire). Power from fuse 25

Ignition turned on in both cases.

OK - I'm in the process of re-gluing some broken parts in the control panel (which has nothing to do with my issue but while I'm in there...) and I disconnected the large connector on that "AC unit electronic control unit", sprayed with contact cleaner and reseated firmly.

I doubt any of that will fix the issue but will reassemble it all after dinner and report back.

I'm still leaning towards your ECU.

If your panel plug is still accessible, try powering up the HVAC without the panel connected to see if the fan runs.

    Bon appetite

Here's another view of the HVAC ECU (thanks to @eric355 )

Steak was delicious (have learned how to do a reverse sear recently since our grill, like my Ferrari is currently broken and awaiting repair)...

Reassembled the panel and predictably still no HVAC action of any sort. It's time to put the kids to bed so I'll try to disconnect the panel again tomorrow and see what happens.

Thanks all! Hopefully we'll get this sorted!

Ah.. I thought Eric provided us with a Euro (LHD) photo. Or do you have a RHD car?

I guess your ECU wasn't disturbed then (but can't be ruled out entirely).

This looks like a contender here:

It should have one yellow rectangular plug and one white rectangular plug (EDIT: I thought they were the same size, but I may have been thinking of the Suspension ECU)

The white one goes to the control panel (13 pin)

Another possibility: The difference in location may be due to the type of braking system you have (Teeves vs Bosch)

Good news everyone! Climate control is working again!

I managed to find the HVAC ECU (it was in the location that Ian pointed to above - clearer picture below) - I disconnected, cleaned all the contacts and firmly reseated both connectors and... it worked!!

Thanks for all the help along the way!

Oh and the craziest thing - I went on a post repair shakedown drive and not only did the HVAC function properly but nothing else broke which is the first time that has happened in 2023 (1/5 to date)!
