Unofficial 308 tool kit specifications

It looks like it could be a manual window winder. Probably from something else but with the tip it has it may work.

 

Rifledriver: it does, indeed, appear to be a window tool. It hits on the door pocket, but I suppose it could work in a pinch. It doesn’t look like any of the other 308 window crank tools that I’ve seen.

I think I posted these before, they changed even for the GT4 in the 74, 76, 79 books. Look at #9 Chiave estrazione candele, which means spark plug extraction tool. I have one of these I bought from TR years ago but cant figure out how to use it! Maybe 4right knows!!

Also my 75 which came with almost all the tools and jack kits intact had a tommy bar with a round top. I saw a couple of similar ones on 512BB kits, not sure it these were correct as the book shows a cylinder top with a groove in the middle of the bar.... Any of you folks with the spark plug tool from a QV tool set ever consider having the tool duplicated and selling to poor souls like me that don't have one?

Wow between last night and today just read through this thread amazing. Of course I posted a bunch of the same stuff long ago and BTW Thanks to Big Tex and Barry and others for helping get my tool kit together for my 74 GT4. I agree this could be one of the best threads on the whole site!!!! The company in Italy still make pouches https://www.interniautomaieli.com, and we need to come up with some kind of replacement rubber for the spark plug tool! ha

Unfortunately no tool roll or owners manual pouch or books
That's much more intimidating - I guess it will be a "replacement" tool kit from one of the suppliers (odd to think that will be less costly that buying a used OE kit)

Thinking about trying for Coppa Bella Macchina at Mont Tremblant "Annual Experience" this year so taking inventory and checking everything ...

Depends if you are looking for complete originality, or just the concourse; for the concourse, I think a replacement tool roll might be fine, as these are usually accepted.
For originality, see above...1985 QVs had usually "Utema" wrenches (and blue pliers), but some did already have the "Kravm" wrenches and the pliers with large red sheaths on the handles; I don't think you could find a replacement tool roll that corresponds; and most don't have the original spark plug tool.
The easiest thing to find is the emergency triangle (you wouldn't have to look for one if your car was a US Version, as they didn't have one, but for an "euro" car, you need it...) look on "E-Bay", but buy from Italy, these are rather cheap there, about 80 dollars.

Lot of good information in this thread. I thought I'd show what an aftermarket replacement took kit looks like. I suspect this is easily spotted as non-original by the regulars in the 308 forum, but those new to 308s should know what a replacement kit might look like. This one came from Superperformance UK in 2006. The carb tool was not included and had to be purchased separately.

Believe there should also be a red reflective safety triangle, which is collapsable and has its own fold-out stand that allows it to be placed on the road. It is kept in its own longish plastic container with a removable plastic cap. The container is a thin plastic with some texture and ribbing, and is a light blue-greenish color. Origin alsseem to be hard to find. Mine is intact, except that the container is missing its cap. The triangles themselves are pretty flimsy.

 

What are the long "tubes"? For checking the exhaust gasses?

Yes. Not actually part of the tool kit but I suppose those were put in the roll long ago. Used for emissions and mixture adjustments and testing. “Sniffer tubes”

 

As said in some previous posts, U.S cars did not have the triangle in their jack kit, they were delivered without it.
The triangle brand usually was "Costaplastik", containers were of many different colors, usually blue or green, and these "Costaplastik" are easy to find on E-Bay for about 75-80 $, IF one takes the precaution to buy these from italian sellers, as some sellers outside Italy ask for stupid prices, for what was an accessory common to many italian cars of the period.

My car is an early Eurospec GTB. Was not aware that U.S. cars did not have the triangle. Always a wealth of knowledge on this forum.

 

Should you want one, do not overpay; about $80 - $90, no more; keep your hard-earned cash, do not pay these $750 or more...

La barre avec les deux billes se sépare t' elle ( se démonte ) de la clé a bougie Tommy bar ( la clé a bougie pour carburateur ) ?

Sur mon kit GTB de 1977 il ne se sépare pas, il semble être définitivement fixé à la douille de bougie et au pivot.

C 'est ce que je pensais ( que la barre s"enlève de la clé a bougie ).
Les billes sont bloquées par la rouille .

 

I’m looking for a tool kit for my 1985 QV that came only with the jack roll and I thought I’d tap into the amazing knowledge in this thread (@nerofer @BigTex @piezo and others here know everything that can be known about these kits!) to check if this kit on eBay (sold by a very nice Fchat member) is OK and accurate for my car.

It seems that it might be missing the plug tool and I was expecting a Ferrari marking on the plier but I haven’t seen as many kits as you guys
